That is not true at all. You are right that most mortgages only allow 10% of the current balance, as you have stated and that's how my mortgage with Halifax works. But my mortgage with Skipton is 10% of the original loan amount. I am sure other lenders will have this rule also.

After seeing your pictures and having a look online at some videos showing a bit more detail on the sizing I've decided to change my strap for the M/L. Apple CS also said as long as they have straps in store I can come in and swap if needed.
