I've already got an XSPC bay res with a D5 in it, and im looking at changing my case to a Define S that has no bays.. sooo want an internal tube type res between 240-250mm length that can take the pump? Only ones I've found either already have a pump fitted or out of stock.... everywhere lol...

I just went for the Asus P8Z77VLX in the end, after reading some reviews performance wise its actually not bad at all. Overclocking wise it will be fairly mild though I imagine which is fine for me.

Saying that just seen asrock z77 pro4 and extreme4, in stock ready to go somewhere so now ive started looking at atx the options are opening up a bit.

you know what ive just found a couple of possibility's on ebay all asus. i'd prefer new though sooooo, does anybody know how the Asus P8Z77-V LX would compare to my gene? for 60quid i think it might worth a punt... btw just to explain about form factor situation, it was in a Silverstone...

I thought matx, but changing my case will prob be easier than find a good matx board tbh

Funny you say that since my z68 board died, a maximus formula x38 with a c2q is my standby setup... still surprisingly capable tbh But on topic im in the same boat and Im leaning towards a new setup due to lack of boards, but at the end of the day that's what they want.

Cheers guys, im lost... thinking of flogging the cpu and mem and starting again... shame cos the 2600k is still a perfectly good cpu.

As per title really, my asus gene-z died last weekend and enthusiast type boards seem a bit thin on the ground these days for socket 1155... My cpu is i7-2600k and mem is 8gb corsair vengeance, maybe ebay is best place to look? Any ideas welcome...:)

Didn't know that but cant think of reason not to stay with amd anyway tbh.. I just assumed my setup would just hold back a card like a 290 so im happy now :)

That's good news if that's the case, was contemplating giving in and buying a xbox one/ps4 thinking I was going to need whole new setup to cope with latest games. Value wise gotta be amd hasnt it?

Hi guys, Just wondered if anybody had any suggestions? Been out of all this for a while and kinda lost touch... I'm imagining that my cpu will be a limiting factor these days? Ill list spec below. Just want something capable for latest games in high settings, my hd6870 runs ok medium...

Man those Sempron cpu's are cheap as chips (excuse the pun:rolleyes:) WHS is the os i had in mind it. Was going to try it but says you cant activate the trial and have to start over:confused:

Wow cheers fellas! Youve all helped a lot at clearing up what I should be looking at. Ill just give a bit more info on usage, all music, cameras, camcorder, phones etc will be ripped/synced to this machine and any lengthy downloads. Then all it will do is share these with the rest of pc's...

im a bit stuck with above, its for watching blurays mainly and hdmi will go to an onkyo 605 so next question is do either transmit dolbyhd or dts hd over hdmi?

tbh i just thought going from matx 50 quid chip to one ofthe latest gaming boards and 110 quid chip i might of seen a bit more of gain.
