Fantastic, thank you. My inclination is Intel because it'll be photoshop. Couple of questions:
SATA vs PCIe SSDs - big difference? If PCIe is quicker I'd prefer 256GB PCIe for the OS/scratch rather than 2x256GB SATA.
HDD brand - Toshiba/Seagate/WD - any difference?
300W PSU enough? How close...
Putting together a machine for heavy photo editing work, but not currently after 4k support.
Requirements:
Budget is £1k (just over is OK)
Need 3TB or more disk space in RAID1
As quiet as possible
How does the below look?
I've opted to use the CPU integrated graphics - good or bad idea?
I believe it is illegal to pump a mains circuit, so it should be removed ASAP. I'm surprised the boiler installer did not remove it and fit a normal mixer instead.
I'm not sure what the consequences of using it would be, probably depends on relative pressures. Certainly the pumped mixer won't...
Correct, you can't have a pumped shower with a combi boiler.
On some digital mixer showers you can swap the mixer unit for a non-pumped version, otherwise you'll have to change it.
Electricity has really jumped up. I'm with British Gas at the moment, 8.88p/kWh and 21.8p/day standing. Not finding anything with a unit rate <12.5p/kWh now!
Interesting, just did a quote and got different standing/unit rates, even though the tariff name is the same...
Edit: Bulb comes out cheaper for me (£49/mo)
True, there is a small risk, that is undeniable. But if you go for named brands from reputable suppliers the risk is significantly lower.
I have two of these twin USB faceplates, they don't get warm and appear well constructed, so I'm happy.
I had this where very small amounts of oil were leaking from the cam covers and dripping onto one of the catalysts, where it immediately burned off. Above the catalyst is the cabin fresh air intake, so it smelled very strongly in the cabin.
Smell would disappear once moving since the airflow...
This could've caused serious turbo damage! Overfilling turbodiesels with oil is really bad. I really hope not as it seems you've had enough to deal with.
Absolutely this. The girlfriend's mk6 had an EML for a while for catalyst efficiency, then the coil pack died a few weeks later. New plugs and coils and it's been fine since :)
