Silly question, but what sort of speaker set up do you need to use the audio cables on the Xbox VGA cable? I've got a 19" monitor (not widescreen though :( but the cab;es won't go into my PC speakers?
Tekno - it's 2 x 512 corsair twinx
Corasik, you're quite right, HMM5 crashes so consistently it would be quite a useful one to use to test the set-up.
Thanks for the info about what prime 965 does. I'd thought I was going mad. Odd how 3d mark and oblivion seem uneffected.
A little question as my PeeCee is behaving oddly. Recently upgraded and went with a ASUS sli prem, and AMD 3700 cpu with a freezer pro stuck on top. Overclocked it to 2.7ghz quite happily and was getting about42 degrees heat under load.
It was prime 95 stable for about 12 hours (longest I...
I've got the accelero on an x1800xt 256 meg. Personally I'm very happy with it, Main reason for the change was sound levels and the accelero's pleasingly quiet, a vast imporvement over stock. Running the card overclocked and the temps are about 72 degrees underload, which is fine for the card...
Hi - I posted this on the mobo forum but am not sure where it shoud go really:
Does anyone have this (a8n sli premium) board? if so any idea where the bank interleave setting is? Sandra reports mine ram set to 2 way and I'd like to give 4 way a go as i've heard it can make quite a difference...
Does anyone have this board? if so any idea where the bank interleave setting is? Sandra reports mine ram set to 2 way and I'd like to give 4 way a go as i've heard it can make quite a difference. Only thing is I can't find the bios option anywhere!
Well - I'mm by no means an expert, there are people far better qualified than I to advise you, I read the o/c guide here and read a fair few posts.
CPU's can be a little different so it's best to take things little step by little step, but the upshot of my settings now are:
Ram set to 333...
azza, I've just bought a a64 3700 and asus a8n sli premium, I was asking the same questions as you and opted for the freazer pro 64.
I'm running at 2700 stock volts but could go higher if I wanted to - the coolers amazingly quiet and the design means it blows the hot air backwards out of the...
Aha! Well thats reassuring - glad to know mine wasn't just going slow for some reason. Clocked my CPU up to 2.7ghz and I can get close to 9,000, but I think that's about enough clocking for me.
Hi, I'm running a very similar system (A64 3700, 1 gig pair ram, x1800xt 256) and would like to compare results, I'm using 3d mark 05 though - getting about 8000 points (but people with similar specs are getting over 10k!).
I'm afraid I don't know what a divider is, but I set the ram to 333 mhz so when clocked it's running at just over 400mhz. this seems to have done the trick nicely - CPU quite comfortable at 2.7g and a pleasing boost in 3d mark. Now all I need is to get the set up right for my x1800xt, which I...
3d Mark
I know 3d mark is about GFX, but my CPU score was lower which struck me as odd (not much lower, but I was expecting it to increase.
System is:
3700 w freezer pro
Asus a8n sli premium
1 gig corsair twinx (2 x 512)
connect 3d x1800xt (256)
To achieve the overclock i just ramped up...
Overclocked to 2.6ghz
I clocked mine to 2640 (fSB 240 x 11) and tried it out in 3d mark 05, and got a lower CPU score than it running at standards speeds. No issues or anything and it's a stable 40 degrees, any ideas why would it be slower?
I've just got my new x1800ct 256 meg and installed control centre and drivers (6.2 as I heard there were some issues with the x1800 and 6.3).
However, I've read on these boards about an ATI 3rd party control util, and of course there's ati tool. My question is what's the best util to use? I...
Hi, I'm not entirely sure if this is the right forum for this, but I've just ordered the power3d x1800xt 256 meg card and have heard that it's quite a noisy beast.
I currently have an x800 with a Zalman ZM-80D-HP (and fan). Will the Zalman fit the x1800xt? I'm primarily interested in keeping...
