This pile of **** is still freezing!
Twice today ive had 2 screen in blue with white writing saying I should remove and new hardware of software. Then just 5 minutes ago it went onto power saving again!
Is this a hard drive or mobo problem?
The monitor goes into power saving mode which won't go away and the temp rises on my case.
Took out my 250gb Western Digital Caviar SE16 and it looks like parts of it has melted, nothing too serious yet but you can tell it been running hotter than it should be. In another thread I mentioned...
Just fitted a 450w OCZ psu and the comp still conks out while backing up stuff. It also conked out while I tried to post this 5 minutes ago. I now only have the thermaltake heatsink & fan running, all other fans have been unplugged (not used to it being so quiet)
Could one of the fans be...
Late last week my comp would freeze when I left it on acquiring stuff. I wouild turn the monitor on and it would say Power Saving On. I also noticed the temp sensor on my Case was 10 degrees higher. Pressed buttons etc but nothing would happen. This carry on went on all weekend until yesterday...
Decided to move the drives about then noticed a nice big space were the floppy drive should be. I put the raptor drive were the floppy space is and moved the 200gb drive up a slot. I also moved the 250gb drive up one slot and the temps are a lot lower, it sitting at 44 degrees just now :)
The raptor and 200gb drive are both 8mb buffer, the 250gb is 16mb, do the 16mb buffer drives run hotter? Its the first one ive owned.
Ive seen the 250gb drive as hot as 57 degrees  With the fan blowing on it the temp now sits between 49/51 degrees.
Maybe if I were to swap the 200gb...
I currently have 3 WD hard drives in my pc case:
HD0: 74gb Raptor
HD1: 200gb Caviar SE
HD1: 250gb Caviar SE16
Both the Raptor and the 200gb SE are running quite cool, the 250 on the other hands is running over 20 degrees hotter.
It was sitting at 55 before I moved one of the 4...
I have the exact same processor and the highest temp its been at is 64 degrees when im playing CM 03/04.
Just checked out your task manager and you have 84 processes running at once! I currently have 33.
Dunno what it is, a mate bought it a few month ago and was gonna build up his own system, couldnt be arsed doing it and he's offered it to me.
Which is the better of they 3 types?
The system came with 256mb
I put in a 512mb stick and it improved it quite a bit.
I might be able to get my hands on a amd 3200 and asus 939 motherboard at quite a good price, It might be better in the long run to do that.
