If you can get the 3090 Ti FE for less than $800 it's worth it. It's not like the card is suddenly slow.
The only 4000 series card worth spending money for is the 4090. (of course the Ti version will be the full uncut die, will cost too much and will only come out when Lisa Su makes a threat...
If that's the exact same as the "Seasonic" cable, that cable is only $10+ shippping, at least in USA.

I know Corsair is a Seasonic reseller, but they also have other OEM's like FSP and...
When BB (exclusive seller in the USA for this card) did their very first 3090 FE drop (October 9th 2020 IIRC--that's when I got my card on a discord notification), the 3090 FE's were in stock for over 30 minutes. The 3080 FE's didn't last as long, I think it was 10-15 minutes, not sure...
Looks like they do NOT have a 3090 FE version.
And they specifically say that the 3080 Ti FE version cannot be used on the 3090 FE.
I would email them specifically and ask if they have a 3090 FE version available or planned.
The only time you should upgrade is if you're unhappy with your current card's performance in whatever new games are out, the card doesn't have enough VRAM for new games, or the card breaks and can't be RMA'd successfully.
If the only game(s) you play, for example, is Valorant and League of...
The guy who makes Kritical pads says that Gelid changed the hardness or formulation of their Extreme pads so that they are harder than before (but not as hard as Ultimates). I can't confirm or deny that personally, though.
I've been reading those threads. None of them are messing up the installs. Some of them even made detailed step by step guides posting exactly what they did, taking pictures and still getting bad hotspot temps.
one person even took a caliper to it and determined on his card the 'correct'...
Normalized TDP is from any individual power rail, whether exposed to NVAPI or hidden, including the rails powering Core and Uncore voltage, with whichever rail reaches or exceeds its default or maximum value by a greater degree than any other rail (not in raw watts/amps but in amount or degree...
There are 3mm Ultimates out also. 90mm * 50mm "2 pack" as well as a 120mm * 120mm one. Prepare to donate a kidney to pay for it.
You can get them on Amazon or on Gelidstore, which is Gelid's own store in Hong Kong. (Disclaimer: these are NOT competitors since ocuk doesn't even sell these...
Thank you. That's helpful. Maybe I'll buy it and see how it is.
I wonder if it's the same pad as those 120mm * 120mm Gelid Extreme pads on aliexpress (which are a China only SKU. Gelid told us in email not to buy those pads because there were quality issues with them. The new Gelid Ultimate...
Does anyone know who makes the "Zezzio" 14.8 w/mk thermal pads? They're a repackage of something from another supplier, probably one of those Shenzhen factories.
I had a guess that the 12.8 w/mk versions were just repackaged Thermalright pads, due to their hardness and packaging style, but on...
So you're not going to be happy with this. In fact I think NO ONE is going to be happy with this.
Another user just repadded his 3080 FE and took a digital caliper to the original pads and the VRAM pads measured out at 1.5mm. Yours are 2mm.
That means there are two different versions of the...
Now that's very interesting.
Those VRAM pads are definitely very close to 2mm (almost looks like 1.8mm on the left for both and 2mm on the right for both).
I know the 3090 FE VRAM pads are absolutely not even close to 2mm. I didn't take any pictures of the card when I took it apart for the...
Oh you pre-compressed the pads. That's what helps 2mm Gelid Extremes work better (on cards that can use them).
That still doesn't explain the people who were getting 100C hotspot / Black Screen 100% fan speed with 2mm Extremes on 3080 FE's though (the 3090 FE absolutely ****CAN NOT**** use 2mm...
The problem is there were TWO people this week on the Nvidia sub who did 2mm on front, 2+3mm on backplate and had *black screen + 100% fans* (critical core shutdown) either when windows loaded or when trying to run a 3d app, and at least three other people who had 90C-100C hotspot temps. They...
Not true actually. I think it was koeiwong who said he had degrading temps fast with MX-4 and had it slower with MX-5 until he decided to yeet the paste application.
(TFX, SYY-157 and FuzeIce Plus or ALSEYE T9+ Platinum would have helped here).
Pastes don't matter much when the surfaces are...
