Cannot see anything to run on the screen all blotted out. Trying to post this from tablet

Turned it off for couple of hours still the same. Its an old nvidis gforce 6600

It was a job to read but appeared to be sn error message and was checking counting to 100%

My pc suddenly went to a screen ot all short coloured lines with a vague message about s fsult. I restarted but as soon as monitor lghts up all these lines appear wiih loading info all broken up. Has my graphics card packed up.

I use EasyBCD great little prog.

A friend of mine wants to know if he purchased a Windows 10 tablet would he be able to install any windows programme or would he be restricted to only apps designed for tablets ? He does not have a PC or internet but wants a programme he can use to convert video files.

Am trying Recuva in normal scan which has fond over 6000 files but trying to sort them out is a nightmare. The pics it has found 2,3,or 4 copies of each, the vidoes don't work, some it hasn't found & the amount of rubbish is enormous. To do a deep scan it est time of 1 day.

Files not hidden. In recovery tool it says files are excellent. As I said I recovered a few photo's perfectly OK, so it seems they are all there just can't see them. Thanks for your help so far.

I know what is on it. pics vid music macrium backups etc. I ran Togethershare data recovery & they are all still on there. I saved a few pictures but I have to buy it to get it all. Why don't they show so I can use them. Not concerned with chrome.

I have a ssd ext HD which I used on a relatives laptop and now it is only showing 1 prog. The rest of the the progs seems to be there but are not showing on my PC. Is there any way I can get them to show again? Thanks.

Success at last. Tried as suggested to run setup from ISO but it said put in other 64x disk. It was 64 bit I download. So tried download again & once downloaded selected upgrade instead of save. It then downloaded again (not sure why, may have because I selected Pro). Once it was downloaded it...

koolpc They were done through MS updates so it downloaded every time. Took ages to do.

Skeeter I tried using an iso it came up with enter key which I entered my win 8.1 key which it accepted. Then it asked to select whether to keep apps or clean install. the third option was blocked. No sign of 'upgrade'.
