do I return my EVGA 8800 ultra KO?
Had card about 2 months now. Have vista64 installed.
I play cod4 and have always had probs with crashing in game and it locking up.
I have repeatedly updated changed drivers , lowered in game settings. Checked ram etc.
Then i read about...
I have an e-GeForce 8800Ultra KO 768MB
and thinking of going SLI
Do I need to have another exact card or would a 8800 GTX or GTS work.
If so any recommendations for one?
Thanks
anyone recommend a bundle for my EVGA GeForce 8800 Ultra and a 600W FSP Sparkle Epsilon FX600
upto about £350
also would it benefit to go to a SLi board for future upgrade of additional card or just stick with single card and diff mobo?
I have A8R32-MVP Deluxe 939 mobo;AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4800+ (Socket 939); Ocz 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 and currently 2 X x1900xt crossfired.
PSU: Epsilon FX600-GLN
Would any of the 2900 series work crossfired with this system? and would it be any better?
I had same prob with same board and same card.......exactly the same symptom.
I had connected the the PSU to board with the EATXPWR connector but hadnt connected up to theATX 12v connector aswell. :(
As soon as i did connect it up all was fine. :)
but i didnt gain a great deal of extra performance with the gfx card I had.so I took it out but will go with it with the new gfx card.
I suppose burning out the opty or just leaving it sitting in the draw is same as one another.
So ** saying the 3800 is a no no then :)
would I get CPU bottleneck problems with this set up?
Also I am considering a Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe Crossfire board with a single X1900XTX for the time being. Is it ok to run single cards on a crossfire board or is it not worth paying the extra for?
