It is the laptop, the speeds are supposed to be ==2mb/s.

At my girlfriends university there is a file sharing program called LUserNet ran across the internal network, her old desktop got 2mb/s, the new laptop however is only getting 60kb/s with the firewall off, and network card set to 100BaseTXFullDuplex, any ideas why this is? Thanks.

My dad rang BT earlier and they told him our phone would take up to 4M, bit dissappointed really given i'm just about to order 16M broadband, but still, it's only £10pm and they might upgrade the phone line at some point, you never know.

My download speeds are appropriate for the results of the speed test, my problem is why those results are so low, i doubt the speed test is limited by my computers router/firewall, so it must be either the line or tiscali, might make a phone call, see what they say.

I am limited to about 110kb/s which is about 900kpbs, if i have some torrents on, the overall download speed will always topout at 110kb/s whether i have one or ten torrents downloading.
