When I play a widescreen movie on my home cinema setup (Limit 900SE DVD player and an 42WH46 RPTV) I notice that the aspect ratio is not the full 2.40:1 that it states on the back of the DVD box. However, if I convert the DVD to an iPhone format using Handbrake I seem to get the full picture...
I reckon that this problem has more to do with an issue in iPhone 2.1 firmware rather than an issue in the router. Hopefully this will be resolved with 2.2 version of the software.
My wife and I both have iPhones which both work perfectly with any other wifi connections apart from our home wifi. We have a DrayTek Vigor 2800 ADSL2/2+ router and the wifi connection on the iPhones will drop exactly 10 minutes after the initial connection. The wifi symbol still appears at the...
These Giriffin cases look pretty cool, in particular the Elan Form:

What do ya think?
I'm not looking for a reason to return it, I'm trying to make sure that a hardware problem is not being covered up by a firmware fix. Whereas later batches will have the actual hardware fixed.
Ok I've just realised something. I said my touch was fine in that it didn't have any screen issues, but I only tested this after applying the 1.1.1 update. Is it possible that this update to the firmware has 'hidden' the problem? If so is there any way I can remove the 1.1.1 update and test it?
Nope, don't think so. I've tried the pages at http://appleservedup.com/ and the screen seems to be displaying blacks fine. Any other tests I should try?
I cancelled my order with Apple online last night and went and picked up a 16GB model in my local HMV. It's from the week 38 batch. I haven't opened this yet and was wondering if there are issues with the week 38 batch? I could order one elsewhere and bring this one back to HMV.
Or else I...
I cancelled my order from Apple last night, and I'm going to my local HMV this evening to get one, that is if the ones they have in stock are > week 37.
Ordered 16gb version on Oct 10. Current status is "Not yet shipped".
Estimated Shipping: 19 Oct, 2007 - 24 Oct, 2007
Estimated Delivery: 25 Oct, 2007 - 31 Oct, 2007
Are these estimations usually accurate?
Is there any way to have placemarks within Adobe Reader whereby you can reopen the document at a later date and pick up where you've left off? I would've thought this would have been a fundamental feature of a PDF reader application.
I have just got a Draytek Vigor2800 ADSL Router/Firewall from work so that I can securely connect to the corporate VPN. I have Sygate Personal Firewall installed on my machine and I also have Windows Firewall enabled. Do I need Sygate still or even Windows Firewall? Can I uninstall/disable them...
He is back! And he doesn't know what the problem is either!! Anyway marc, thanks for all of your help on this, it was much appreciated. If I get it sorted I'll update this thread.
Ok, I can run the VM within VMplayer on my local machine and it can successfully connect to the network, internet etc!! So therefore it must be the server then, right? The server is running the latest version of VMware server if this is helpful to you.
The nslookup command is still not working on the vm. Although the ip address of the vm is 172.25.1.103 whereas the server is 172.25.10.122, so that's a different range right? How can I find a free IP address in the 172.25.10 range so that I can assign it to the vm?
