I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the supernova in M82. It was first spotted on the 22nd, but happened a few days before that. It's still visible now so go take a look if you get a break in the clouds. M82 is very faint, I can't even see it through my binoculars, though some people say they...

Gemini Planetry Imager/ I'd not heard about this, but it sounds like great progress is being made in exoplanet photography. I'm looking forward to seeing more great images. This should really help better our understanding of solar system formation.

    Viewing shared folders on Android

ES file explorer can create desktop shortcuts to folders that are on the phone, so I don't see why it wouldn't work with a network folder, but I'm not at home so I can't try. 1) Go on to your network through ES file explorer so you can see the folder you wish to create a shortcut to 2) Hold...

Food supply for a month £30?

Sainsbury's do a 4 pint jug of 1% fat milk, and tastes like semi skimmed really. For reference, full fat = 4%, semi skimmed = 2% and full skimmed = 0.1% Also just read this article on the Guardian, which talks about this site here and the woman that runs it. Lots of super cheap and healthy...

Three - Galaxy S4 - No mobile broadband

Same for me in both Sheffield and Leeds. It's a little annoying, but at least it means it's not my phone that's broken. I did actually get signal half way up the M1 for about 5 - 10 minutes.

I stick to 30 second subs. If I try for more then I end up having to ditch too many frames. The Andromeda pic has 29 subs at 30 seconds each.
