measuring water temp and displaying on Speedfan / LCD

Hi, I currently have an LCD controlled by LCD Smartie, being fed info by SpeedFan (great for CPU, GPU, PVM, SYS temps etc). What would be the best hardware to: a) Measure the water temp b) Get that temp digitised so Speedfan (or LCD Smartie itself) can read and display it? Any...

    Air conditioning units?!

I can recommend the ones ******s sell for £250. My bedroom is probably 6m x 5m and the unit gets the room icy cold, whilst the room nest door is 35 degrees! With large rooms, it will cool it down to a comfortable level, but it won't actually get cold (of course, it dehumidifies too, which...

Pump died? Homebase to the rescue! (temporary fix)

I might throw some pond weed in there just to add to the effect ;)

Ok to use a 1/2 inch pump on a 10mm system?

My 10mm system seems to keep all components (3) in the chain lovely and cool. Why do people use 1/2 inch systems.. is it just when you're running to several different components? Am I right in saying there is a split consensus (amongst OC'ers) about flow rate and how important it is?

Pump died? Homebase to the rescue! (temporary fix)

hehe.. well it did the trick and... I was able to hoof a load of ice into the bowl to lower my temps further :D Us loft dwellers are the real victims of this heat! - Toff.

Pump died? Homebase to the rescue! (temporary fix)

My pump died (I killed it) on Friday night  I couldn't face the weekend without the pooter, so I went down to Homebase (out of desperation) on Saturday and to my delight, I found a Hozelock 450 pump (for £22) which works great as a temporary fix! It's sat in a bowl of water...

Ok to use a 1/2 inch pump on a 10mm system?

Hi, I've tidied-up my cabling; I've mounted 2.5mm jacks on the outside of the case for the pump and the rad fans to plug into. I stupidly got the polarity wrong and blew my pump (or it's controller board -something went pop!) :( Anyhow, I now have a new pump; a Swiftech DD12V-D5 1/2"...

OCZ timings incorrectly deceted "By SPD"

I tried these timings at 235 FSB and everything seems stable. I ran MemTest and no errors showed up, although I did get a "Internet Explorer: Memory could not be read" after a few hours of surfing the net. If I want to try and push things further (obviously not the CAS) which timings...

    Will a 3.4 Prescott reach 4GHz+ ?

Thanks Lee.. I've heared about these mods before. I can't get in touch with Drazic because he's been susspended from the board :( Is there anybody else who can do the mods? - Toff.

OCZ timings incorrectly deceted "By SPD"

Thanks, I'll give those timings a go. Am I right in saying there's no need to touch the v.dimm? - Toff.

2GB of memory - use 1GB for a RamDisk Pagefile?

Hi, I've got 2GB of system memory. I've used QSoft's RamDisk to create a virtual ram drive using 1GB of that memory and I've put my paging file on it (the drive is loaded before all the services start). Yes yes.. the page file (PF) is supposed to be more than twice the size of the...

OCZ timings incorrectly deceted "By SPD"

Thanks. I've overclocked my 3.2 P4 Extreme to 3.7 but it won't seem to go further, even with extra voltage (it's nice and cool thanks to H2O). Somebody suggested slackening the timings on the memory to see if that allowed a higher overclock. As my FSB is currently 235, the memory is...

OCZ timings incorrectly deceted "By SPD"

Hi, I recently got some of the following memory from OcUK: OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC4000 Dual Channel Gold GX XTC Series EL-DDR CAS3 The stock timings for that memory are 3-4-3-8 but my mobo (IC7-MAX3) has detected "By SPD" as 3-4-3-7 Should I just manually change the setting to the...

    Will a 3.4 Prescott reach 4GHz+ ?

Hi, At the standard voltage (1.55v) it will run stably until 238FSB. I've tried pushing the voltage upto 1.625v but it's still unstable past anything over 238FSB (too chicken to raise the voltage any further! - the water cooling is working well, but I don't want to nuke the CPU with too much...

    Will a 3.4 Prescott reach 4GHz+ ?

Excuse my ignorance (again) but what does PI stand for please? I settled for a 3.2 extreme edition. Without any OC'ing it beats my 3.0 OC'd northwood (3.7GHz) in the benchmark tests :) So that's cool, probably due to the extra cache (and lack of errors going on?) The extreme edition...

    Will a 3.4 Prescott reach 4GHz+ ?

Bundles.. that's amazing.. but I thought using a 5:4 ratio on the RAM wasn't as good as having a 1:1 (using suitably quick memory as AWPC suggested). I thought raising the FSB (and core voltage - max 1.65v) gradually until the system proves unstable (then back-tracking until stable) was the...

    Will a 3.4 Prescott reach 4GHz+ ?

Well that pee's on my bonfire  But of course you are right.. even without the latency issues, it'd be at least £150+ for a theoretical 300MHz raise! I guess I just got fixated on reaching 4 GHz! I've got my Northwood 3.0 to around 3.7 by raising the voltage to 1.625v that...

    Will a 3.4 Prescott reach 4GHz+ ?

I ordered a 3.4 478 Extreme but sadly the box turned up empty!   (my first e8ay problem in over 110 transactions :( ) As it seems almost impossible to get a plain 3.4 northwood (let alone an Extreme) - I'm wondering about a Prescott. As previously mentioned, I'd...
