ARGH - no speedlink
I've got a speedlink and I hate it
It's light flimsy and the build quality is poor, I really wouldn't recommend it.
I now have the enermax Auroa brushed aluminium keyboard.
Build quality is outstanding and it is light years ahead of the pathetic speedlink (no...
I've got a 7600 GS by MSI
Here
It's got the nice nVidia control panel which tells you how hot the chip is. I don't have mine overclocked and it's temps were about 64 degrees idle and about 78 under load. The warning claxon doesn't go off until the temp hits 125 so there's plenty of...
Okay but toasty
I used to own one of the Silentmaxx's and my bro had a Zalman.
In terms of making things quieter - the Silentmaxx has the edge definately.
As far as cooling goes...
3.5inch bay with 80mm fan (coolest) < zalman < silentmaxx (hottest)
If you really want one - for keeping...
You can - i've watercooled a Sugo, you just have to be really really really careful and tidy and you can just about squeeze everything in...
someone remind me in a couple of days and i'll post photos when i get back to it again ;)
If you don't mind NOT doing filesharing between 6-11pm - then Tiscali are okay. (They DO throttle between those times but DO NOT the rest of the day).
I have 2 broadband account (home + home office) and I use Tiscali for the home office one. Stable connection (not at first but it has been...
I was on Pipex - they were great until they started limiting all p2p stuff.
Completely sucked - even using encryption didn't solve the problem entirely because you have to rely on the other folk using encrypton too or you don't get full speeds.
Pipex may have the hoff but they still blow...
I know they're not as good if you want to Overclock, but what about a Zalman Reserator +1 ?
That way you can get your reservoir. Although I know the hardcore oc'ers will tell me it's not as good - but I think it looks neat (and its quiet  )
Get yourself a SUGO :p I changed about 2 months ago and have been much happier:
Full power supply (you can have almost as many watts as you like)
Increased space = better airflow and less bl**dy fiddly
Better upgradability
You can get a proper cooler rather than that shuttle ICE junk -...
just to say that I recieved my 19" hans Widescreen today, 1 dead pixel miles off to the right, which can't be noticed anyway in Windows...
but it's awesome, wonderful picture and lighter (and considerably) cheaper than what I paid for 15"tft !!!!
if you haven't already bought one - buy one...
I just finished building my sugo evo as well -
3ghz Pressie - Zalman CNPS8000
Asus mboard
3 * 80mm case fans (if I need)
Idle @ 31c 1400RPM cooler - silent
Load @ 52c 14000rpm cooler - surprise still silent!
You don't need to worry about the extra heat generated - the CNPS8000...
Just a quick a slightly noobish question...
Is it possible to fit a power supply the 'wrong way up' ?
Do they have a 'right way up' ?
Thanks guys
you have to be careful with the depth of the 2nd PCI card - the Shuttle disk drive cage is quite deep and can interfere with the 2nd PCI card.
You can get 3 drives in shuttle but (i) personally would also worry heat generation as they don't draw air over that part of the case..
good luck!
Howdy Guys,
I've had a shuttle XPC SB83G5 for a couple of months now and decided it was too noisy, so I got myself a Zalman Reserator 1 Plus water cooling kit and imagine my shock and horror when I can't attach it to my mboard because it doesn't come with the right kit to attach it to a...
