I've just upgraded to the P8z77-v pro from an old AMD set up. I changed the mb, CPU (3570k) and memory (Samsung green) and despite all the changes Windows 7 fired up ok after set up and after a day getting the board set up and the various drivers and tools added it's running like a dream. I...
After a fair bit of reading up I went with the Asus. It's been rock steady so far and have just completed an upgrade from AMD to Intel and a change of motherboard and once I realised that I had to switch the HDD back to IDE in the BIOS it booted up and off we went without a compete re-install...
Good move with the RAM. It seems to be the general consensus that it is the best of the bunch with that board. From my experience any other memory could be a false economy.
Consensus view is that the m/board can be chosy wrt memory but that the Corsair is the best of the bunch and on the ASUS QVL. Don't try and save any money there unless you're brave and/or patient.

It's certainly a bargain if it matches your m/board though.
From my recent experience in setting this board up from scratch it's certainly bleeding edge. I had the m/board with g.skill memory and it wouldn't even install windows XP.
On the advice of ASUS I flashed the BIOS from the 0203 supplied to the latest version, however, after a successful flash...
