Hi folks,
I have a suspected complete mobo failure of my Gigabyte P35C DS3R board. The new rig will not post .. cpu and system fan spin up though no display and no beeps. I have already eliminated the following....
(1) Memory ... tried 1 bank at a time and tried 2 sets of working DDR2...
Hi folks,
Just tried all combinations ie putting the old drive on the secondary channel and still windows won't boot with the old drive connected in any ide slot with the new one as PRIMARY MASTER. Must be something to do with 2 C:\ drives conflicting.
Any1 know much about using fixmbr ...
Hi folks,
I have an old boot disk (c:\) which has a non-working copy of windows xp on it and I am having a lot of trouble getting data off the drive.
I have tried the following ...
(1) A usb enclosure in which I have tried using it as an extra drive though windows seems to report problems...
Looked at it too. Looks like it will give around an extra 35% cooling ie cfm. [(110^2)/(92^2)].
Looks interesting, though seems on the dear side for an air cooler. Personally I am still umming and ahing over the Titan Amanda or the Sycthe Ninja (lightweight).

Hi invader,
Well done on getting to 2.7GHz or so. To get more stability at higher clocks you need to bump up the CPU Vcore voltage. I would personally go up to 1.5V with no problem as long as the temps under dual core load stay under 56C or so.
The limits I would abide by are ...
Hi,
I have got the same motherboard as you and have managed to work through a couple of the problems.
(1) memory .... I would set to 4-4-4-12-2T (1T did not work for me and seems to not work for a few/a lot of people with this board)
(2) Overvolt the memory .. look up the spec on the...
There is a way of "fixing" broken pins I think..... Google for it as something at the back of my mind (could be dreaming!!!) says that there is a paperclip trick u can use to save your situation. Though if you have plenty of money it is only a 100quid for a 3800x2 anyway!!! Sell the old cpu...
Well I think it is rather harsh being banned for a 1st/2nd offence really. I have already had one warning for having a signiture that was 1 line too long!!! even though it appeared 2lines on the preview. Anyhow it is oc's forum to do what they want with.
Personally I think they get a good...
Isn't meths flamable???? I personally would not use it until I have understood the risks associated with it. Also meths vapour I would imagine be highly flamable so if your system leaked while running you could blow up your house big time when you turn your lights on.
I would try a CFC...
Hmmmm..... Just seen the Titan Amanda in stock .... just to throw a spanner in the works I see that overclockers have released(in stock) new AM2 compatable Scythe Ninja and Infinity coolers. The Infinity looks a promising alternative being easier to fit and saving me a PCI slot. You reckon...
I have the same mobo though with different memory. My combo did not like 1T timings so try 2T first as suggested. The other important thing is that there have been a lot of reports of this motherboard undervolting the memory so I would run the maximum specified voltage for your memory. Mine...
Buy monitor first ...... then gfx cards ....
From reading around when I was buying my gfx cards a few months back "VIDEO MEMORY" was a considerable factor in improving performance at the higher resolutions.
Thats why I went for the 512MB cards .... Though I think that the new G80 cards are...
I would just enjoy your 24incher for a while then jump in a few months later with a next gen card.
On a personal note I would not adopt windows vista in Jan I would wait 6mths or so at least for all the driver issues to have been sorted etc.
Looking at the first gen G80 cards I was shocked...
Just to let you know you can overvolt the memory upto 2.3V which should remove any instability issues. Just go with AUTO settings initially and use Prime95 large FFTs to test the memory. This way detects memory instability far quicker than memtest IMO. Goodluck.

I would spend the money on some sort of alternative power supply unit that smooths out the surges and noise in the mains. These units can be quite effective according to some audiophiles.
I myself can here a buzz sound from my system when someone rings the doorbell at the apartment block...
There is a thread I started "AM2 AIR coolers your recomendations ...." somewhere in this section. It contains a weblink to a cooler compatability list though it is not yet a comprehensive list.
Freezer Pro 64 may fit your requirements. It is cheap and cheerful!!!
