I've decided to buy a TFT monitor but don't have much to spend, so I ended up coming across these as I searched for reasonably priced TFTs. There's a 17", 8ms one that costs £96.99!! I would assume it's rubbish, but the specs seem okay. However, I can't find reviews of Videoseven monitors...

If it's any help I returned a BFG 7900GT last week because it had the usual 7900 defects. Couldn't be bothered risking getting another faulty one so I'm just getting an X1800XT instead. There are probably plenty of people who have faulty 7900s but aren't aware of it - mine worked fine in...

well, they've now agreed to give me a refund but I'm still unclear on whether or not I'm running the risk of a "no fault" charge. My return request was made within the 7 working days the distance selling regulations give you to return unwanted items anyway so they couldn't really argue with...

if the graphics card is PCIE then you must be wrong about the motherboard you have... either that or you're wrong about the graphics card being PCIE. It's one or the other.

haha, sure it was!....we believe you ;) (I actually do, just kidding) edit: funnily enough, I actually think HDR in Oblivion is overrated. To me it just makes everything look massively overexposed and cartoony. I actually settled on bloom+AA in the finish up.

it's not a first person shooter, 24fps is perfectly playable. With everything maxed and HDR on I get drops into the 20s on my 7900gt anyway, so if the x1800 can do that with AA as well, I can't see what the problem is.

click here and scroll down to "display driver only" under low-speed.

basic driver + ATI tray tools = win. CCC is utterly woeful, I agree, but the above option is easily equal to the nvidia control panel.

since the 7900GT is £190 new, I wouldn't spend £200 on a second hand one! :p X1800 can do HDR with AA and has 512mb so it's probably the better option. It's also hard to recommend a 7900 at the minute given the issues surrounding them. If you can get one that's guaranteed to be working (by...

haha, this gets better and better. Until I sort out the card I figured "well, at least I can use my new comp in the meantime, just can't play games". Except now the display keeps flickering on and off in windows, and my icons/desktop/start menu turn into crazy corrupt multicoloured patterns...

yep, the sheer randomness of the errors happening is a major problem. Sometimes it'll go for hours without anything happening, other times the display is garbled after 30 seconds.

aha, I also can't reply in full using the webnote system because my message is "too long"

OcUK are now refusing to offer me a refund for my card because I've "used it". How else was I supposed to test if it's faulty or not, exactly?
