Dont know if it was posted already but since people are talking about negative crossfire scaling I found a fix over at Guru3d. Either force the Oblivion profile using RadeonPro or use this file.

You mentioned you are running Afterburner. I have had issues with BFBC locking up aswell and read somewhere may could be due to Punkbuster having troubles with Afterburner's low-level hardware access interface (options). Think you can also rename/delete RTCore.cfg in your afterburner folder...

Just successfully flashed my 2x VTX 6950's. Passed Heaven and 3D Mark 11 without issues. 6950 Bios at stock 6970 Bios at stock 6970 speeds A pretty nice improvement. I am well chuffed only having had these cards a matter of days :)
