I agree with this somewhat. I have just recently got 2 14900k for testing (I am a 12900k+13900K owner). I have not really noticed a difference between a 13900k and a 14900k although I am having more problems trying to cool the 14900k than the 13900k. Although I have not tried the feature whihc...
Afaik Most AM5 setups the sweet spot is 6000mhz. Beyond that you will have to tinker with the settings and it gets kinda sketch. There are some peeps that have managed to get it beyond 6000mhz but is it worth the hassle and frustration probably not. Be happy with the Corsairs.
I have never seen any dominators that have been good. it does exactly what it says it will do and just that. I think I have had 3/4 sets of the dominator ram DD4. First it wouldn;t play nice with my old 5950x setup and these were just 3200/3600 mhz variants. Constant dead sticks with my z690 I...
well at the moment it booted up at 6600mhz on the z690 platform whihc iirc really only supports up to 6400mhz. It's difficult to know how far it will go. Currently I am running a 129000k whihc I thought was a crappy overclocker in another z690 motherboard. But in this motherboard it has...
It looks nice as that why you would buy it. It I have it in a z690 formula board but I will transfer it to the z790 formula which is a refresh of the z690. It says the board can go up to 7800/8000 MHz I can’t remember which one. I will test both. But depends on the memory controller. I mean it...
@digitaldreams that is not excessively high to be honest. There was an asus z690 formula board which use to have insane PCH temps. I use the same mother board as you and I lowered the PCH voltage in bios.
On my strix-a it is 55C on my formula board it is 55C as well
@JasonM I use to have a 4 way yello power strip and the RA block which is the same as yours. When my main hi fi was in use everything bar the power amp was connected into it. I have never liked my power amp connected to the RA block or using the RA power leads due I feel it dulls the sound ever...
Is that the follow up to the PM6005? If I were you I would audition it with your speakers as the Pm6005 while a good budget amp was hella warm sounding.
Difficult to say. The Isotek power lead was given to me by an audio dealer to try out and they never asked for them back. So I sling it on my little amp for the PC. I don't use the RA power leads any more so they just sit there being unused. And the Burmester power lead came with the amp so I...
@JasonM I have used a few of the leads with wattgates on them. I have a few from RA, Isotek, Burmester etc. I did have the Yello power leads and the silencer from RA. I didn't really think much of the silencer or the Yello power leads.
I have these speakers as part of my PC setup. So basically the 3020i are a warm sounding speaker. Very easy to listen to easy enough to drive. For synergy I would be looking to audition with an amp which has a clean presenation to make the 3020i into a nice all rounded sounding affair. I would...
@Mr_Sukebe First let me preface this I have enjoyed reading your audio related posts over the years. Now to reply your post. When He first appeared on these forums after being banned from the AV forums he use to recommend Boulder equipment. But the rabbit hole goes much much deeper than that...
Gigabyte cards are fine until they break and then you have to deal with the Giga RMA service. Equally as bad as Asus if not worse as it down to their discretion if they RMA or not and even then they might not acknowledge you had ship it to them. And their customer service is as bad as they RGB...
I have had only 1 card that was louder than the ASU’s strix 4xxx series and it was the strix 3090ti water cooled edition. If you thought the 4090’s was loud. You haven’t heard this beast it would coil whine like a mofo when it was in windows let alone gaming.
Also SNAP I get that coil whine...
From my experience yes. I read earlier in the thread it has a chance to subside but have yet to experience this. I had 3 or 4 strix 4090 all had really bad coil whine. 1 strix 4080 that wasn’t as bad but loud ti compared to other cards, 2 suprim x’s with nasty coil whine but not as bad as the...
Yes it is I originally bought 2 of them but sold one donkey years ago and still have the other which is currently not being used atm. Also got the silencer thingy and various bits and bobs from RA in the past but have moved away from them since.
I have a RA block and power leads. I also have Iso power lead and a Burmester one. All this stuff I got years ago. I did have a yello RA cable but since have got rid of it.
@Jay85 I really like this build. i have it on my shortlist. Is it easy to build with? I am considering builidng another mitx build as it has been a while since I last built one.
@kitfit1 you better edit your post before it gets deleted.
