Have you had a look in your eventlog for errors. It will show up disk errors.
Also try smartmontools its command line but can be a little bit useful with some drives.
Afraid you have just shown why RAID0 is scary. Hope you have a recent backup.
They work best with matched drives but its not necessary. The gotcha is if the seagate is a few bytes smaller than the maxtor's if it is you will not be able to rebuild the array.
Yeah they are very fast.
You will need PCI-X slot, PCI-X SCSI card 320MB/sec (£150 +) a SCA adapter 80pin/68pin £10 - £15 (ebay have them cheaper) and a 68Pin LVD cable with active term (£20 - £60 depending on number of heads). These will cost you a fair amount of cash.
Could be cheaper if...
O/S'es get it right 1GB is 1024MB
its the hard drive makers that take the mick by saying 1Gb is 1000MB.
Its been like this for years and I doubt it will change anytime soon.
The Lacie RAID 0 bigger disks suck totally avoid avoid avoid.
Do not use them for back up you are asking for trouble.
We used a lot at work I think the failure rate was 30% maybe more. Not funny having to spend £1300 to get 500GB recovered from those useless things.
Either buy a proper...
Use add remove

70FPS??? anything over 40FPS is fine for first person 30FPS for strat games.
I assume your on an LCD at 60Hz if so just turn on Vsync and lock the FPS at 60 it will look very nice I assure you.
If CRT check you refresh rate and sync to that.
If you clock your card to 625/2000 you will...
Does your mate have a pair of 8800 GTX's or is he just guessing?
If you not O/C'ing you CPU then approx 13000 is a decent enough score.
The problem is the CPU is bottlenecking your system. (If you have Pro try increasing the resolution and AA AF settings then run a bench using SLI and...
You nutter. :D
Could you not fit some tweakmonster RAM sinks on that beastie just a thought.
How about a support coming up from the bottom of the case to the card it does look like its bending a fair bit.
I loved my 9700 Pro awesome card.
Still running O/C'ed in my old water cooled AthlonXP.
Poor thing even survived a leak from the NB water block  thank god for IPA fluid to hand.
Still hits 16500 in 3d mark 01 best not to mention the 03 and 05 scores though :p
They are nice screens for the money.
OcUK have them for a very good price at the mo.
They are going end of line I believe.
Just make sure you sit far enough away otherwise the bottom corners tend to change colour thanks to the viewing angle :)
Nvidia 96.89 Drivers allow do not scale as an option and it works.
Nvidia have hosed the 97 series in someway.
97.02,97.28, 97.44 and 97.92 the do not scale option is broken. Fingers crossed they fix it soon.
Anyway just in case anyone else was suffering I though I'd let you know.
yeah I am using that cmd hack for battlefiled problem is it should do a hor + and increase FOV instead it does a Vert - so you actually see less than if you were playing on 4:3 screen (Dice decided it would give widescreen users too much of an advantage).
I am playing a few games windowed...
I got a Dell 2007 non widescreen so 1600 x 1200 resolution well pleased with it.
£310 from OCUK quid about 2 - 3 months ago dunno how much they are now.
Ok so here is what I'm trying to do.
I have a Dell 3007WFP native res is 2560 x 1600
Some games I have problems with getting widescreen (ie not supported correctly BF2142, DOW DC i.e.well they do support it kinda but not properly so you lose the top and bottom, or just weirdness i.e...
