Installed the windows hd audio hotfix for windows 64bit pro and then installed the SoundMAX audio driver that came with the CD and my sound isn't working... Ideas? Hardware finds HD audio etc. but then asks me to install the drivers .... which i've obviously done over and over...

Your games would probably have to run in a lower res.... but desktop etc is fine....

I would swap the hdd for a western digital, i just found them to be a better quality over the years and if anything does go wrong with them .... their quality of customer service is excellent!

Sounds stupid but sometimes windows updates install when the PC shuts down... This could be happing without you knowing... Happend to someone i know the other day. Try turning off automatic updates...

Did you plug the other power connector into the motherboard? The gfx card may require a 6pin power connector but even if the gfx isnt plugged in the pc should start spinnin up Look over the motherboard there should be another small connector that you have missed... it maybe 4pins in a...

You can get into BIOS etc fine? Is there anychance you knocked something else loose, say memory? Try reseatin the mem... Could be something strange like even the SATA cable connector has been pushed out a little.... Check all connections inside the PC...

Just had my friends Corsair 520watt delivered today :) As said the cables are a little displeasing. Other than that, it's a good PSU and i would recommend it.
