Thanks guys.
I didn't realise that they changed the bundle. I logged onto the account and then check my previous orders. Clicked on the bundle and it showed the Noctua, so I assumed that was the HS I was to get. I guess this is a fault with Ocers ordering system and previous orders, it...
All,
Just realised the state of this system I brought and true is Overclockers hs utterly screwed my order up.
I've order shed loads from Ocers but this is the first time they screwed up badly.
I didn't get the AS% which I paid for, this was correct ASAP by Ocer this thx.
However I...
If I remember correctly I couldn't have the HS pointing to the back of the case. Only choice was pointing either up of down. So I chose Up for obvious reasons.
Ocers are posting out a tube of AS5, so I will test my temps once the curring has settled.
Zavoc - What's your fan speed reading...
Excuse the language but **** I just ordered some AS5 and you're right I'm suppose to get get it with the bundle. Webnote on it's way.
Zavoc - The last set of temps you posted is my current idle temps using the standard heat paste which came with the HS.
Just wondering but which way is your...
Dlthorpe - Too late I brought this bundle 6 weeks ago.
I've just ordered AS5 to sort out a slight temperature concern.
IntelBurnTest v2.3 I've been using to test stability, I see most use prime 95.
Is is neccesary to test for 8+hrs??
Until now I've just been downloading, play Blu...
What boot problems did you have please with this bundle?
When I press the power button on, the system will turn on and the power light shows. then the system goes off and then on again within seconds and boots up normally.
Zavoc I have the same setup as you but I brought it clocked at 4GHZ.
I too didn't use AS5, I normal do for all my systems but on this occasion I ran out and used the stuff which came with the Noctua HS.
The difference though my idle temps are roughly the same as B34st 44 - 48 degrees...
Same here
Damm and I thought I was the only one.
The same thing happens to me.
I press the power button on, the power come on then disappears and then come on again but this time with the main POST screen showing. It then boots normal.
I've started to have the occasional BSOD but I...
Still in debate over this one and will have to see the reports from other to make a firm decision.
Just thinking out aloud but a Scythe Ninja-CU Full Copper CPU Cooler with a 120mm delta fan would be interesting :)
Would use a fan controller to reduce to an acceptable noice level but...
First off thankyou for taking the time to respond much apprecaited.
I'm planning on running VMware as well as games and the machine is used for all sorts including video editing.
Didn't realised about the Wolfdale chip and seems pretty good for ocing.
GFX card I have is the 8800 GTS OC2...
Here another question the ThermalRight Ultra Extrme VS the Scythe Ninja-CU Full Copper CPU Cooler?
I've seen the Scythe Ninja CPU Cooler on a mates PC and running the intel quad core very cool at 3.5Ghz so with this new version I was wonder how this performs against the TRUE?
Hi people,
Tis a while since I last overclocked a system and was an AMD setup.
Moving to the Intel processors this time round I need some advice please.
Either I go for Ocer's bundle:-
1 x Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - OEM
1 x Abit...
Booner,
CCBWE's are generally not very god overclockers and that 2.6ghz for that chip is about right from what I've seen so far with people having that stepping.
Because you have water cooling its helping you to achieve 2.6ghz. I've seen worst clocks than that with some just about getting...
Great job guys with the info.
Yup if you get a similar stepping to the one I posted and for those of you with dfi mboards, then my conclusion is that that memory is the failing factor and not the chip.
I can quite easily boot up at 2.8 on stock vcore but super pi and aqua both bomb...
Got myself a x2 3800 from overclockers, in fact brought 3 of them.
All three are crap for high overclocking, but depends on how far you want to overclock to. This one I had couldn't be stable at 2.6ghz.
I kept one and left ruuning at default for my server box and the other two were for...
Just been to the site.
It states that its AM2 socket and the oppy your talking about I beleive is socket 939 therefore no you cannot use that chip with this mboard.
Have to look for an AM2 Oppy if there is such a thing?
Tried to PM ya but for some odd reason says I do not have access to this page???
I tried putting a sort of link without directly referring to it as I don't want to break house rules but I think it was taken off.
PM me and I'll reply.
So far been burning in the Oppy 165 at 2.7 - 1.3...
Ha ha ha fair enough everyone entitled to their views. Can appreiciate you wanting more info but I'm not about to dig into passed Mirror papers or hunt the net for South East past news for 2005. (I'll leave that in your capable hands)
Was merely written to prove a point that UK people (be...
Sauce??? Or you mean source??
If the later of the two both incidents was on the South East news last year. think the school was either Oxford or Luton. As for the local council one can't remember which one, but can definitely recall this one as there was a huge debate at work!!!
Referring...
Started to use a divider at 2.8Ghz tried 166 and 150 so far. I suspect it just a question of tweaking the settings as DFI mboards have a ton load to mess about with.
Will let you know what results I get this eveing.
