Sounds like a motherboard driver problem to me. Try re-installing the chipset drivers :)

My CPU-z thinks I am an DS3 F1 bios - I am not. I think the program must be reporting it wrong!

The DS 4 isn't an SLI board.

Not really. You could put the driver file into the windows install but it involves slip streaming the install CD - it can be a real pain to do correctly. Buy or borrow a floppy drive until Vista. :p

Having a non working hard drive wont stop you booting off of the windows CD.

All, The DS3 update appears to fix the PIO only mode on the IDE channel :D

All, I just tried the beta bios with my Patriot ram..... ... ... ... ... ... It didn't work. :(

Hey all, I'm having more issues with this processor. I thought it had a multiplyer of 7, but CPU-Z detects only 6. Any idea why? Cheers
