Indeed. I was just passing on a warning that I was almost sure I'd read on here at some stage.

They'll wait so they can send it all as one bundle. You can call to request they be shipped seperately, but at your expense.

PSU query for new build system order

I use a HX650W Corsair for pretty much the same spec as you've detailed above. Anything in the 600-650W range from the likes of Seasonic, Corsair or OCZ is a solid choice.

To be fair I did underestimate the 965. I don't recall it being as good as that graph implies. If the graph is accurate then it's a good deal considering the price it's at right now.

This is what I was getting at in earlier threads, you only give advice to what he's asking. People could stroll in here saying they want to spend 2k on a computer but it has to be [insert **** component] based and you'd happily spec it for them. The AM3 is a daft choice given what's available...

    I5 750 or I7 860

Right. The requirement for dual GPUs on that size resolution is practically nil, which means you won't benefit from the extra bandwidth of 2x x16 x16 PCI-E slots on 1366, so it seems 1156 is the best choice for you. Like that guy above me said, the 860 is on 1156 so you won't be on the X58...

    I5 750 or I7 860

i9 will be largely worthless for years to come for gaming so I wouldn't worry about that. Build for the now, and the best results you'll see on the 1156 platform is from an 870. What size display do you use?

Your graphics card won't fit. There was a thread about it I think. Also, why AM3? It's a dead platform.

    Gaming headset help

I've had 2 pairs of Creative Fatality headphones now. Comfortable and fully closed with a detachable microphone. They're great value. I bought mine for £35 from PC World so I imagine you can find them even cheaper online.

Advice needed of the rig variety

I was actually referring to performance when playing FPS games. I played CS quite seriously when it was super-popular so I know the importance of performance while playing. I'd be interested to hear more examples though, examples that you feel are worth spending the extra cash.

I'd be astonished if someone would pay £200 to jump higher in a game, but fair enough, it might matter to the OP.

Advice needed of the rig variety

I just linked some benchmarks, you haven't interpreted it the way I was hoping for. I wasn't trying to imply there's not a difference on paper. It scales very well, but in the area that it matters (30fps area) and the amount of games for which it will benefit (Crysis still? Maybe Arma II? I...

Ah sorry, misunderstood what you were getting at Creed. I follow the opinion 1920x1200 isn't large enough to need dual GPUs. Here's a quick example: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/gtx285sli-hd4890cf_9.html#sect2 The % gain at each level increases the higher the...
