I use a Double-Row IDC Cable Connector for a ribbon cable relative to the number of header pins on the board.
With a multimeter I just stuck a pin in each of the female slots of the connector to determine which wire in the ribbon cable was right and then just soldered to the correct position...
Hi
Thanks for the input.
Just a few questions...
1.Is the Asus M4A78 AMD 770 the better option compared to the Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 because I could get it from somewhere else since OC'ers don't have any stock?
2.I was settled on the idea of getting an ATI Radeon HD 4850 1024MB...
Yeah! great thread I was looking for this kind of advice myself. I wish I spotted it before posting my thread concerning upgrading on a budget from amd xp cpu. All these dual, tri and quad cpu's with mobos relative to ddr2 and ddr3 were putting me off of thinking about upgrading tbh.
I think...
Hello all :)
Haven't upgraded in yonks (except for a recent 22" monitor) and I mean I am still running my oc'd 2500 xp mobile cpu in an a7v880 mobo with 1gig ddr ram plus 7600gt gfx and soundblaster sound.
I know, I know it's pitiful but that's why I am here.
My plan was to go the...
Yeah! the m$FFPro2 is an awsome joystick. I bought the v1 (the one with the rubber sleeve thing) with msfs2000. Had it a day before I read that the pro version was about to be released so I got a refund and waited for the FFPro1. Works even now. The ww2 sims like il2 take its toll on the trigger...
That screen sounds nice but I don't think I need the £120 17" UltraSharp™ Wide Screen WUXGA (1920x1200) option.
No HDMI out like in the XPS series nor a DVI out does take the shine off a bit but I haven't moved to digital TV screens yet so not much of an issue for me right now.
I just found...
The true life is £20 whereas the other upgrades:
£40 for the gfx upgrade and £46 for the cpu.
I've never had a Laptop before, is there any special cables I'll require for going out to my CRT TV which takes composite and s-video/scart?
Trying to spec a Dell laptop:
Allround use really, maybe not so much of a gaming solo platform but more for multimedia (Photo, Video editing and Tv-out to CRT TV at present..Plasma/LCD near future).
Not sure which one to upgrade GFX or CPU:
From the standard T5450 to T7250 cpu upgrade...
Am I missing something here... You have an via 880 chipset mobo which supports 200fsb and a mobile barton with good code IQYHA right?
If so that chip and mobo should do at least (10 or 11X) @200fsb at lowest cpu core voltage.
The kt880 based boards should definitely have the correct...
I wonder if it's a mobo bios agp under volt issue. I experienced white vertical streaking visual effects on a rig with a 7600gt agp card at a setting of less than 1.6v
Went from a 9800se @pro myself and my 3Dmark2001se score went from ~16000 to 17067 and 3Dmark2003 went from ~5930 to 11570.
Games do indeed look quite a bit better since now able to run 4XAA with 2XAF->8XAF which really doesn't seem to cause any drop in frame rates.
It seems however...
Hit the nail on the head there man!
The OP's uninformed jingoistic drivel is non productive and contributes nothing to a co-operative, cohesive and thoughtful society.
From what I can tell, cultural bookmarks from the 20's on up to the 80's seemed to be more clear cut. Be it clothes, styling, music or TV. The 90's seemed to be a culmination of all the era's styling and music mish mashed into one with the onset of boy & girl bands and rap artists sampling and...
I'm so fed up of these, so called reality inspired TV shows.....The format is usually devoid of any intelligence and always plays to the lowest common denominator. What a waist of an expensive medium.
Honestly how they can pull a show like “Brass Eye” off the air and yet keep pouring money...
Thats's totally correct, to be impartial is the best that any of us can do.
On 15 February 1898 the USS Maine was blown up by the Americans to spark the US intervention to remove Spain from Cuba. At the time there were also inconclusive theories as to the cause but conclusive evidence...
