Sony KDL V3000 Vs. Panasonic Viera TH-42PX80

I upgraded to the 42px80 last week, its an amazing screen for the price, I paid £650 after a pricematch, never going back to LCD now for a TV, the difference in picture quality is simply amazing.

    GPU2

It was from a review site so I guess thats why the cheap price, they got it for free themselves :P I will test winSMP, is it still better to use a VMlinux over windows smp client? I could set it up I guess.

    GPU2

Thanks I got it from the bay for 60 quid which i thought was a pretty good deal :] dual core 6600 @3.6ghz, I'm not hugely bothered about electric but I don't really want it to kill my card, its sitting at 62 degrees currently which i thought was pretty ok for a gpu, seems to constantly keep 1...

3870, I have the choice of this or running winSMP as a background process, just wanted to know which would give more PPD. Would this not give me more PPD than a single winSMP client? I've left the card at default speeds but it is only the DDR3 version so the memory runs bit slower I think...

Been inactive for ages due to moving house, move getting messed up, no internet etc etc, back online as of last night, and my question is anyone folding using the new (new to me anyway) gpu2 beta client? If so, what sort of PPD do you get? **EDIT** Well I have started it running and I'm getting...

    Can't connect to server :(

I was stuck for hours last night trying to get a new SMP WU, got one now took almost 3 hours and a lot of retries before it got handed one though.

    Look out top20

They wont even notice TBH, they are never off anyway so its only the difference between idle -> folding and we have some big CnC lathes that suck leccy like something else so I'm almost certain it wont even make a %age increase

    Look out top20

I am slowly and stealthily re-borging my office Dells now so I hope to see a PPD boost over the next week or so, no Quads/Duo's running SMP or anything as nice as that but I'm hoping quantity will compensate for quality and should get me comfortably up into the top20 :) After several months...

    DLTV

Anyone else notice they overtook us yesturday, but then with 550k+ production they are storming the charts, their top users are putting out some huge PPD's

Anyone folding with either E2140 or 60

Yeah in my short experience of only one WU, and it was a harsh WU, plus default clocks, it was not a good result for me :( But obviously if your going to OC to 3ghz I'm sure you would get a massive boost compared to what i was getting @ 1.6ghz, still, I'd be much happier going for atleast a...

    E2140

Yes in theory, in reality, who knows! If the user leaves it on every night (as they have been told so the server can send them windows updates blah de blah) then it should fold 24/7, however they love turning things off here, must all be tree hugging energy saving hippies or something :p

    PPD & time running question...

Wait until Q2 2008 and then the new core revisions will hopefully make all the current quads cheap as chips :) Well thats what i'm hoping for anyway.

One client is set to adv methods, the other client is set off, i've got no access to that PC now, so I just went for one of each.

    E2140

Got a new dell for work today and it came with the super budget E2140 "pentium" class core. Basically a severely pwned C2D which gives each core 512k cache and runs at a meagre 1.6ghz (no overclocking possible here!) I stuck SMP client on it last night to see how fast it could fold, it got a...
