These were very tight. I has to just fettle a couple of edges to help them in and then a few needed a blow with a hammer to seat properly. It's a great print though and only about 350g of filament.

    5700X3D and AM4 pricing

I'm not 100%, but I think my more recent (relative) history is a Q6600 with a 8800GTS, then a 2500k with a 6950, then the 6700k with a 980ti and right now its a 6700k with a 7800 xt. Just waiting on the budget to free up to do the chip so I can forget about it for another decade haha.

    5700X3D and AM4 pricing

My plan is to replace my aging 6700k with a second hand 58 or 5900. The price of new kit for AM5 is just keeping me out. Long gone are the days where I could justify an upgrade every year or even 2. I blame the Q6600. My longer cycles all started with that.

Prusa mk4 vs Bambu Lab X1 (or Carbon)

Sunlu pla+ is what I most recently got, worked out about £11 a kilo for the amount I got. Running through the AMS and P1S just fine.

Prusa mk4 vs Bambu Lab X1 (or Carbon)

It won't be better, but it'll be pretty damned good and with a lot less mucking about. Have a google for Bambus with a 0.2 nozzle doing miniatures. There will be plenty of videos and photos to look at. Yeah its been poor from them tbh. Though even Sunlu have also got limited stock on their own...

Prusa mk4 vs Bambu Lab X1 (or Carbon)

A P1S will do prints that large and with a 0.2 nozzle on 0,08mm layers will get great results for miniatures without any of the issues that come with resin.

why you shouldnt neglect proper loop maintenance

No it was more of a weird pale green. It was probably a small rainforest trying to grow or something, or it didn't like being in a little sunlight. Oddly now that I look at it, it's only the tubes from the reservoir to the GPU and the GPU to the top Rad that have any staining on, and both are...

I've been out of the loop (ha) for a while...

Yeah if I didn't already have the rest of the loop I'd not bother these days. The most taxing thing I play is timberborn ha. I shall keep my eyes peeled for a quantum titanium bluetooth zanadu excocet diamond waterblock that will fit something a little newer.

I've been out of the loop (ha) for a while...

Ahh thanks for those guys. I've been happy enough with the EK stuff, its literally all been fitted and basically forgotten about since I did it. Just looking at the price for a new waterblock for an AM4 or 5 or a new GPU and it was making my eyes water haha. Fortunately my 2x 360 rads, fans...

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

Ah ok. Much appreciated. When you step away from this part of things for a while everything moves along and the gap between my rebuilds is getting longer with every one. Once upon a time it was every 12 months. Then the Q6600 happened and I think it was 5 years, and now the 6700k. Was looking at...

Joel, Jim & Jassim - Utd Ownership

They can only demand so much. In addition, gardening leave gets bypassed all the time. All it does is stops you officially working for the company. It doesn't stop you having lunch with anyone and forgetting to take your briefcase home.

What are the 30 year old plus gamers playing?

Man who never eats pork bun is never a real man! I had great fun with Sleeping Dogs a long time ago. These days any gaming I get around to doing is things like Timberborn. My 980ti can keep up with that.

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

You can monitor your own, but it's not sent anywhere else. My inverter knows how much PV it's sucked down and my smart meter knows how much I sent to the grid or imported. Unless we're going to start putting in yet another smart meter it's not quite viable. They paid for a great many things I'm...

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

Did we ever get details about those fixed price contracts renewable providers were going to sign so that we weren't to pay stupid money for solar or wind just because the global price was high? Or what about the decoupling of energy prices from the price of gas? Did that get anywhere or has it...

    Spec me a CCTV System

Yet another vote for the Reolink cameras. Have a POE doorbell and 2 mains PTZ's (with hindsight I wish I'd have got the POE ones). Easy to use, easy to set up and I don't have to pay anyone a subscription every month!

Using a Webasto/Eberspracher/Chinese Diesel Heater to heat spaces cheaply...

I got mine last winter when leccy prices were stupid and my workshop was baltic, I have heating oil for the house so fuel was only 90p a litre (still twice what it should be mind!). Worked well but only manually turning on and off which was a pain. This year I finally got around to just getting...

All done on my P1S. I got tired of my desk getting covered in odds and ends and I wanted a handy place for some printer tools, so I started with some multiboard parts And some desiccant holders for the AMS

    Bambu Lab P1S Released

Having just moved from an Ender 3 Pro to a P1S, I can't honestly say it's much better. I mean I didn't measure it and the enclosure probably helps a bit. It's fine for me sitting next to it but I'm not doing video calls or anything. What did amaze me was the confidence it's given me to print...

I've been out of the loop (ha) for a while...

So as per my sig I did a nice WC setup in 2016. That has served me well and still does, despite the age of my 6700k and 980ti now. When looking at the inevitable replacements and not wanting to ditch it all, all the EK water blocks seemed way more expensive than I remembered, and oddly covered...
