    Opentherm - Glow worm boiler

Glow Worm is owned by Vaillant and share a lot of the same electronics, likely the Vaillant VR33 which allows OpenTherm to run the boiler would work in it. Would need the PCB model number cross checked against a Vaillant to confirm it works.

That does look pretty bad not far off being right through. Hard to say compared to my warranty claim as I never watched the video showing the damage just took their word it needed replaced. You need to go to the warranty company as it's them who have rejected the claim, ask them to outline...

    BMW and M Power Owners

I had the prop shaft rubber replaced on a All4 Mini under the extended warranty as it was split. Also had two tops mounts that were splitting replaced without any issues under the extended warranty. Both these were picked up on the health check and the warranty company approved it on the back...

    Family dispute incoming

If the land registry is showing a value that implies a sale, my friend was gifted a house by his parents and it doesn’t show any price/value just a change of ownership.

Approved Used Land Rover - 'Almost New'

What was the suspension damage that was fixed ? If arch liners have damaged tyres they don't do that with out making a lot of noise, could it be the suspension damage was caused by hitting something that then hit the arch liners as it sounds really odd you have all the arch liners lose at the...

Audi Service - some advice please

The brake price is high, there is a couple of different sizes for your model assuming you have the bigger ones you can get Zimmerman disk/pads all round for £420 from autodoc. Even if a garage want to mark them up and charge £300 for fitting still half the price.

    Warranty Woes

If they do the same as VW they do take the wheels off, got a health check video of my mum's car first service and all four wheels were off it. There was nothing to advise other than all good as the car had only done 5k ish

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

They did come back apologised that the advise should not have been given out and offered a £50 credit to my account  It's more if someone wasn't aware of the dangers of pulling a supply fuse really suprised they are sending that out to customers.

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

Was very surprised to get a mail from Octupus telling me to pull the main fuse to the house to sort a smart meter issue  Not normally one to complain but I'm putting one in as for example my mum would have went ahead and tried this. Dangerous advise as only someone from the DNO should be...

If nothing is working when you open the door the main car battery must be having issues, it's probably dead after being left. I'd try another known good battery first. Depending on the charger it might not be charging it due to the battery voltage being too low although I'd expect and error...

    Rocketing tyre prices

That's the normal 19" sizes 225/40 R19 and 255/35 R19, they are up a bit today would be £690 fitted. I think it's the front one's that are up the most, I didn't order them but think they were in the low £170s

    Rocketing tyre prices

I've just sorted a set of star rated MPS4s onto my sister's 3 Series for £668 on Monday, bought from Camskill with the cashback deal and local tyre filter put them on for £17.50 a wheel.

    Rocketing tyre prices

Yes looks more how popular the size is compared to the size of them. There was a deal going last month for 4 225/40 R18 Goodyear F1 AS6s fitted for £300 ish as that’s the most common 18” size on cars.

    Rocketing tyre prices

When looking for tyres recently many suppliers have some form of deals on/off throughout the year along with the prices changing regularly. If you are lucky enough to need them when a good one is on they can be cheaper than what I paid 3 years ago but shortly before Christmas they would have...

    Who here owns a Mini?

My friend has a manual JCW Clubman that does a fair amount of short trips and his long term average is 31-32mpg. It does low to mid 40s on a run the auto should be better than this as it has a tailer top gear.

    Who here owns a Mini?

I’d avoid the diesels I don’t think it will be long until they start with the idea of banning all diesel cars in low emissions/congestion zones. While it might not directly affect a lot of drivers it would make the values drop. The petrol models are all pretty good on fuel and with petrol...

    Audi owners in here!

Autodoc have Zimmermann discs for around £370 each and pads about £150 so I’d expect a full front/rear brake replacement to be about 1.8k at any place other than a Audi dealer.

    Upgraded discs/pads?

I 'd stick with plain discs for normal driving, I find the drilled/groved discs to be slightly noisier on the road. They do look better but you'd need to match the fronts or it would look silly and the front discs are pricey.
