This. The earlier 165Hz 500nits panel is a gem and I would definitely go for the better panel if I had to replace my current Legion 5 Pro.

What would you expect to happen if you cloned a 2TB HDD to a 4TB? Well, doing the the same with SSDs will give exactly the same result. Personally, I use an external USB dock for the new SSD but I'm often cloning PCs/laptops with just one M.2 slot. I don't think it matters which way round you do...

Yeah, I have a Plugable USB-3 to 2.5GbE dongle I use with my laptop when I want more than wi-fi speeds. Works very well.

The one I want is the Caldigit TS4 as it seems to be the only one with 2.5GbE but at £399..........

Batteries in modern laptops are not easily removable. Most if not all laptops have the facility to only charge the battery to 60% to preserve its life when the laptop is normally powered from the mains.

I've used Sandisk Extreme Pro for as long as I've used digital cameras and not had a failure. However, I wasn't prepared to pay their prices for USB II cards and have moved to Sony M series which seem to be a decent alternative.

There's a huge thread dedicated to the Legion 5 Pro (plus any others that crept in) and there aren't many reports of problems. I have one that's just coming up to three years old. I keep thinking about replacing it but can't really justify it as it's still working perfectly.

Frankly, I think you're worrying about it too much and spending far too much time and energy on it. It's a 60GB IDE HDD. Who on earth is going to be interested in it or what's on it? Just chuck it in the recyciing.

I have a pair of 18TB shucked from WD Elements enclosures and they're not quiet as they clunk and grumble continuously. Fortunately, they're normally only switched on in the early morning and their noise is drowned out by my wife's snoring. :cry:

Same here - I have an ET-2204 which I'm very happy with but it's too much over budget for the OP.

Seems good apart from the lowest leg sections which are a spindly 14.7mm. Consider the Sirui ST-124 which is around the same price and has 17.5mm lowest leg sections. The downside is you lose the horizontal centre column.

I'm after an unmanaged 8-port 2.5 Gbe switch. The obvious one seems to be the TP-Link TL-SG108-M2 so does anyone have any experience with this switch? Are there better alternatives? TIA

What sort of camera are you after? A compact, mirrorless or DSLR? The compact camera market no longer exists, killed off by smartphones, so used is the only affordable option there. The cheapest new DSLR is £450 so used is, again, the only option. There aren't any cheap new mirrorless...
