Yeah it's a road with a 38mph (weird right?) speed limit and there are tons of other paths in that park which aren't open to cyclists and motor vehicles - in fact they've been banning cyclists from quite a few paths in recent years. No need to have dog off the lead on the main thoroughfares...
That's my stomping ground :D
I still detest the speed bumps they introduced on the hill in your photo (Breakheart Hill). It was super busy there yesterday - pedestrians and dogs all over the place mid afternoon.
Which comparison site is the go to for US car hire at the moment?
I've not had to hire a car myself for about 10 years... back then uscarhire.com was good. The site looked old then and looks even older now :D
Also, anyone per chance done a one way rental from Canada into the US? Some research...
Yes - Shimano have changed their packaging to pure cardboard and generally more beige. Doesn't sound quite like what you got. Mine was in a plastic bag with a cable tie through the middle of the cassette... it did still have the plastic retainer that all the sprockets sit on too. Perhaps Shimano...
At one point there was a group of 300+ or so. Mentally tough looking for people coming up on left, right and the guy in front. Got a bit boring so I kept finding myself off the back chatting to a mate and then we did mini efforts back into that group. After the stop mostly just my group of mates...
I couldn't believe the size of the stop at Elstead... bike parked about 5 miles away from the toilets. Long walk over :D
It also wasn't particularly well signposted. It said keep right so we did and then it seemed like we were going off route on some side road. Friend with us knew it from last...
Yeah - it's literally one of the first features called out on their product page :D
SOFT INSTEP CLOSURE SYSTEM - https://www.sidi.com/en/road-shoes/143-scarpe-genius-10.html
That's the problem with buying in store and not researching first (recommended in bike fit)... I don't end up knowing all...
The other day I learnt my Sidi shoes that weren't tight enough with summer socks on can be adjusted on both sides... only had them a year :D
I should have read the manual!
That just sounds like poor training. I can't say I've tried in years but not had an issue getting them to price match before. I'd forgotten they do it in fact.
That's pretty good service! Is it confirmed to be a problematic crack? It looks mostly to be paint flaking off. Obviously, not what one wants but I wondered about the severity of the issue. It reminds me I'd heard somewhere else about Ribble custom paint not being worth the extra.
Am I right to be slightly annoyed?

Ordered this from Amazon from Go Cycle Shop/Chicken Cycle Kit supplier. As I understand it they're a UK distributor (although maybe not for Shimano). Cassette has turned up in a plain plastic bag and it's zip...
I'd love to but I don't want electronic gearing for multi-day bikepacking trips - potentially a bit off-grid. It's just going to be a faff if there's any issues. Much rather be on mechanical.
Interesting. How fat is fat?
I've been keeping an eye out for 9.0 ADV but all I've seen is Halfords in-store and without CycleScheme it doesn't really make sense to buy it. A few popped up on Tredz briefly but no Small. I could get something else a fair whack more list price for the same net price.
You've just reminded me I've got one of these... https://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-daylight-visible-20-lumen-rear-bike-light
I think I was trying to bump an order over £20 or something last year :D
I did pull it out the packaging and it seemed decent enough. Hopefully I remember next time I...
