It's a shame you've missed the bigger savings on prices (over the last year and more), but it'll still be worth it while energy prices are coming down. Nowhere near normal prices yet but better something than nothing.
I don't see the £25 x 24 price, only £26 x 24, still it's beating any others at the speed/cost.
I got my renewal email today. Need to phone up to discuss my choice as it doesn't seem there's any other way to communicate with them.
No surprises that I'll be staying for another 2 years at the...
To me, it isn't pointless because I benefit from cheaper rates and I couldn't care about the name. It could be called a free energy meter for all that matters.
If it somehow temporarily stops being smart sending readings, I'll submit manual ones whilst it's resolved remotely. In the last 6...
Nothing to do with accuracy. It turns dumb temporarily but yes for the irrational reasoning I get it and there isn't a point trying to discuss it with that mindset :)
You don't get access to smart meter only tariffs, which can be cheaper (Octopus Tracker for one has been a good saving since the energy prices have been coming down).
The smart meter is still accurate when it's not able to auto send readings? Although you can have a faulty manual meter and...
In that BBC article, the first person had issues because the new meter wasn't registered properly? Sounds like a problem with the system rather than the meter. Just keep the records of the final read and take photos. There's quite a bit of irrational reasoning for not having one in this thread...
Haven't experienced any downside as of yet (compared to normal meters). A little admin to email the supplier when the readings sometimes stop being sent automatically.
The positive is quite specific as I'm with Octopus but I've been able to get on their Tracker tariff which has been around 30%...
Bad or good financial situ? Even though they weren't as experienced in doing the install (mine and my sister's), I'm wanting them to stay because they seem to be better in terms of not only speed, but the stability has been great for the last 2 years with only 1-2 maintenance outages which were...
Or it's a more difficult install. My sister's install took 2-3 weeks as they had to try and figure out access for her flat. Might be worth a try to phone up to get around the system.
Ah no I don't use the included router. I've got another router and it's set to handle DHCP and it advertises the pihole ip as the main DNS server and the router as a secondary.
Cloudflare behind a Pihole. I don't know if it's a huge difference but Cloudflare's DNS servers are: 1) Easy to remember (1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1) and 2) The fastest I've seen in tests online.
I was hoping if they did it'd replace the 150 price slot and 150 moves down to like £15 :D
All the other bills have gone up so a good saving would help.
1GBps another 2y it is!
I'm on £28.25 for 1GBps, although coming to the end of my 24 month contract so will renew if I can stay around that price.
Wish they'd offer something like 500MBps as a mid way package to knock more off the price.
It took me a few months after they installed the fibre in the street for mine to go live. Oct '21 it was being done in my road, and by January '22 it was available for order. You're nearly there!
I've recently watched this again. From what I gather the Dulux "Trade" paint is slightly different in terms of how it's able to be applied and potential drying time which makes it apparently worth getting for trades to finish the job quickly (it mentions in the vid that for example a reduced...
Yeah you'd need to get one to be on it. I had a friend switch to it (tracker) with just the electric smart meter (gas was normal dumb meter). I think it means the usage is split across the days and then charged at those day rates rather than what they actually used on those days. Octopus are...
