Our boiler has stopped firing when I turn the hot tap on. If I turn the heating on the hot water will work but takes ages to get up to temperature. I'm planning to get someone to look at it but are there any obvious things to check before I do that?
The hole in the pic is about 1" deep. I did drill a pilot hole for the fitting I tried but don't think it was quite deep enough. I've thought about the hollow wall anchors but the wall must be a max of 3" thick (it's a bit hard to measure so not 100%), and drilling a pilot hole for the fitting I...
I have some hooks which I want to attach to an internal wall and being fairly new to DIY I'm not too sure what the best way to do this is. Knocking on the wall it sounds hollow so I assumed I'd need some type of fixing such as this...
We were going for a pole, mostly for aesthetics. We have a track in the equivalent window upstairs and it's slightly tricky to pull round the bend, although it's not too high so not too much of an issue. This one's a bit higher so would be less easy to deal with so I think as a backup we could...
I did consider that, my partner want keen on it and I think it would look a little weird. There's also the fact that there's a slight lip for part of it so would need to think about fixing the wood to those parts which might not be trivial
I'm looking for a curtain pole to fit a bay window. The only issue is that the space above it which we can attach the brackets to is quite shallow, around 24mm, so the default brackets which come with the usual poles from the likes of dunelm are no good. I did find some brackets which would work...
That wiring sounds like what I was thinking. Good to know that I'd have to keep the connection between L and COM. Thanks for the diagram. I'd not read specific review of this model, but I did see it mentioned here: http://www.bestreviewer.co.uk/10-best-wireless-thermostats-2017/
It's a Breville BreadMaster (I assume that's the model name, it's really old as it was given to me by my parents as they were going to get rid of it).
I hadn't considered that the temperature could make a difference. I will try making the dough in the machine then putting in the oven, though it...
I have a bread machine which I only really use occasionally when I don't remember to buy bread. The reason is that the bread always tastes like it's come out of a bread machine. I use the same recipe and ingredients as I'd use when making bread by hand but it tastes much different in the bread...
We have a boiler with a wired thermostat which I want to replace with a wireless thermostat. I've been looking at thermostats and want to replace it with something like this http://www.salus-tech.com/cache/filelibrary/4767/library/fileLibrary/2015/11/Salus-RT500RF-Manual-006-cr.pdf
My current...
I'm after some advice. We're in the process of buying a house with a loft conversion into a third bedroom. It was advertised as being a bedroom and valued as such. It turns out that it was done in the 70s so doesn't have building regs. I've spoken to our solicitor who doesn't seem too bothered...
I had a look last night and the brake pedal doesn't seem to move when pressing the clutch
It's all gears
I can't see any blown bulbs
Any suggestions about how to check whether this is the case?
After a bit more investigation last night it seems like the lights are coming on when the...
I've got an odd problem where when I change gear the brake lights come on. I noticed it recently when it was pointed out to me so no idea how long it's been going on. What could be causing it? The car is a mk3 mondeo estate
Edit: no idea why it says estate at the end of the title. Could a mod...
