    EKWB in trouble?

Putting the awful employee practices to one side, on product alone, why would I spend hundreds of £ when I just got this RGB direct die block for my 7950x3D for £99? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/thermal-grizzly-mycro-direct-die-cpu-water-block-rgb-sockel-am5-coo-tgz-00603.html EK direct die...

    New Headphone DAC/AMP

I've got an E50/L50 combo for my HiFiMan Sundara's which I'm really happy with. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/topping-e50-review-balanced-dac.26219/ https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/topping-l50-review-headphone-amp.26210/ That stack...

    AMD Zen 5 rumours

Nice, looks like I'll be holding onto the De8auer delidding tool for a bit longer lol. Now to wait for 3D cache, presumably early 2025.

    AMD Zen 5 rumours

Any ideas yet if the IHS is going to be the same? Literally just delidded and direct die cooled my 7950x3D and I'm wondering if the tool to do this, and the direct die block I have on my CPU, will be compatible with Zen 5

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

2CCD processors love 8000. If you're on a 7800x3D I would aim for 6200~6400 before worrying about 8000. Although, 8000 is less intensive on the IMC than 6400 because of 2:1. It's just booting 8000 can be a bit of a ******** on 4 DIMM mobos if you have one of them.

Wasting tens of hours tuning memory is all part of the fun though  Some games can be more memory bandwidth/latency sensitive than others. 1% lows are especially where you find the smoothness from a good tuning. XMP is just not something I'd recommend anyone runs. At least not if you care...

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

It's usually the mixture of voltage, amps and thermals that can cause major issues, so as long as temps are under control in relation to power draw, should be fine for benching. Hardware these days is usually pretty resilient unless you are unlucky or get really mad with it.

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

Don't think I'll daily that mind you  I know some serious OCers have put up to 1.2v into their GPUs but I'm a bit apprehensive about going that high. Though 1.85v is almost there! Just gotta watch temps, especially hotspot and keep an eye on power draw.

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

I'd say 6200, with 6400 1:1 being up for grabs if you are patient and have a decent CPU IMC. 6200 should be achievable for mostly everyone who puts in a little time. 6600 1:1 is sort of entering unicorn territory, highly IMC (internal memory controller) dependent and will likely need a fair bit...

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

I bought a Thermal Grizzly delidding tool and direct die block from OCUK for my 7950x3D and decided to use liquid metal for the first time in my PC history. Delidding was easy with the tool and LM concerns seem overrated if you're careful lol. My CPU temps are great now. But I also put LM on my...

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

Could wait to see if the 7800x3D drops in price a bit more, but probably not if AMD stagger 3D cache release again and it doesn't come to late 2024/early 2025. 7800x3Ds can be picked up at really good prices just now, it's the motherboards that can still be a rip off. That alone means it might...

    7950X3D Best Setup

I'll check mine tomorrow with my stable lol, see just how far behind it is. edit - Yeah, miles off you lol https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/5555423 Even on a cold day I won't reach your CCD1 scores with a stable profile.

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

A fresh Windows install can make a huge difference if something has been configured wrong or there has been driver/software jank built up over time. Apart from AGESA sometimes being a mess AMD have been known to release broken or bugged chipset drivers. Heck, the latest couldn't even be...

The AVX2 stuff I was talking about was just at stock, like the OC.net topic also has posts throughout 2023 with fails at stock. Seems to be an issue bubbling under the surface since launch but other things like chips going on fire in 2023 due to VSOC took precedent lol. Then there is the fact...

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

I wouldn't touch a 7900X3D personally, get 8 3D cache cores either by going for the 7800x3D or spending a bit more on the 7950x3D. While I don't doubt Windows installs that have had hardware changes/some who joined AM5 early and went through chipset/BIOS issues end up having jank (so clean...

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

The 7950x3D is a beast of a processor, especially with effeciency, it's just brought down a bit by what seems to be iffy QA and AMD almost accepting it being a 'beta product' line. No doubt 3D cache will be far more ready to go with the coming releases when it comes to 2CCD. Some of my benches...

    Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D, 7800X3D

Yeah, 100% recommend a new install of Windows when it comes to these cache CPUs, far too much can get misconfigured in the passover, especially with old drivers/configs. In general a new install is a good idea even with a motherboard change, but it's even more crucial with CPUs, especially if...

Think this is me close to done at 8000. PBO curve is safe with AVX2 and 00-x86 FFT testing overnight, both of these are the curve killers with Ryzen 7000 it seems. IMO best things to run, configure Corecycler Prime95 section for AVX2 and Ycruncher section for 00-x86 and only the FFT test. Just...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Any one else getting an issue on the new FW when you wake/power on the monitor (PC has remained on) text rendering gets messed up? Almost as if cleartype has stopped working, lol. Didn't have this prior to the FW update and I don't think I've really changed anything in the OS to cause this...
