The cost of new generation ITX motherboards

ROG STRIX B660-I GAMING WIFI - looks like the only sensible option right now. Not great for OC obviously but otherwise should be decent That with a NR200p case, pretty sure I've seen people get a 4090 in it (just). I'm planning to build one with 13600 non-K and a 4070 Ti in the not too...

Very nice... but waiting on the 1070s here. Pricing bodes well. Is the reference blower rubbish?

    Mechanical Keyboard worth it?

I recently got a Corsair K70 for about £80. It's good, but I certainly wouldn't say it's a massive change or that I'd never go back. Membrane keyboards are absolutely fine for general use. If anything I find the travel and extra height (especially the space bar) a bit uncomfortable. It is a...

    New Mechanical Keyboard

Fair enough, I guess to me £30-£60 extra seems a lot just to be able to change the colour!

    New Mechanical Keyboard

Cool, thanks. I will be going for the 2014 edition I think. Just wondering, why do people go for RGB keyboards? Is it just the wow-factor, or is there actually a practical reason?

    New Mechanical Keyboard

I've been looking at similar stuff. Want the k70 but it's too pricey. Currently leaning heavily toward the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate.

    Spec review/recommendations please

Cheers, I did some reading around and it sounded like the Seidon was a bit loud and had some other faults. Would be interested to hear from anyone here that has one... It would look very nice with the rest of the kit on the list :)

If I'm going for silence, what's the best reasonably-priced cooler that would fit this build. I'm not on a super-tight budget, but I am all about good value, so if it does a much better job than an air cooler for a few quid more, I'm in. Not looking to spend £100 on a cooler though :)

    Spec review/recommendations please

Yeah I thought the extra colour was a bit much actually. I liked the simplicity of the S340. That Cooler Master Seidon does look pretty nice actually, might be a good option! Edit: really like the slightly more subtle blue trim on the S340 though it doesn't appear to be available yet.

Hi all, looking at building a "new" pc, involving a fresh start with mobo, processor, ram and case. I'm going to keep my existing graphics card (ATI 7870), PSU (Corsair 650W TX Series), SSD and HDD in the hope that it all carries on working for now. Will probably replace the HDD with a 512...

Corsair 250d built - need some advice on components

Thanks, all looks good. Guessing that with a liquid cooler like the one you've suggested those memory modules will be OK (they look pretty tall)... Do you reckon my PSU will still be up to the task? Interestingly I also have the same SSD and graphics card as you :) Cheers

Corsair 250d built - need some advice on components

I'm looking at building a new SFF PC as my old machine is just a bit long in the tooth and is due a near total replacement. In fact I've just checked and most of what's in my current machine is 6 years old! I'll be keeping my existing SSD, HDD and graphics card, and I'm OK for an OS, but...

    4670k OEM vs retail?

Don't you invalidate the warranty by overclocking anyway?

    4670k OEM vs retail?

I've noticed in most builds, people seem to be recommending the retail rather than OEM for this processor. Is there really any difference apart from the fact that the retail comes with the stock heatsink (which generally isn't required, because again, most builds include a 3rd party cooler)...

    New CPU cooler (quiet)

Originally I wasn't planning on doing any overclocking at all, but have been convinced it's worth it to get a 4670k and clocking it up for gaming... Number 1 consideration for me is that it has to be quiet on idle.

    New CPU cooler (quiet)

There are a few Alpenfohn coolers between the £30-50 marks. What makes the K2 £20 better than say the Brocken or Matterhorn Pure? Not questioning your choice, just that I'm looking at the same and am wondering which is best for me, whether the K2 is worth the extra! Thanks :)
