*** The official 2022 MacBook Air/13" MacBook Pro thread (it has the M2 chip, MagSafe and everything!) ***

The base model M1 Air is very capable, I had the MBP 16 M1 Pro for a few weeks and there is no difference in day to day use at all. I went from the 16 to the base model air as I had a very poor experience with the 16 and it ended up with a bricked logic board after a MacOS update. Main...

Are there any people here who make music on their Macs?

Yea mate you will be fine with the built in to start for sure, I've been using mine on the MacBook Air M1 for a few weeks now while waiting to get a new interface and I know the M1 Max/Studio has an even slightly better high impedance output as I had the M1 Pro 16 for a few weeks.

Always on offer, I snagged one for 889 retail 2 weeks ago. At that price I'd take it over the new M2 Air, in a few months the new Air will most likely be on sale at 3rd parties like the M1 Pro MBP's have been.

Are there any people here who make music on their Macs?

For headphones take a look at the HD560s, very neutral and flat sound which is great for music production and super cheap atm around £139. Some say they are better then the HD600 in terms of neutrality, HD600 is highly regarded by many top mastering engineers so a great choice IMO. They released...

Are there any people here who make music on their Macs?

If by chance your looking at making electronic music I highly suggest looking at Bitwig Studio it just a much better version of Ableton, I've tried every DAW over the last 15 years and hands down Bitwig is the end game. On MacOS Bitwig is the most stable DAW I've tried, you have endless ways to...

    Forza 6 announced

I have played both side by side for a week, I have to say the handling on Forza 6 is really strange at times I think the cars require more tuning. The graphics are better, not significant but I would say Forza 5 looks a bit dull compared to 6 on the same tracks. I thought Forza 5 was crap, but...

Recommend me a no fuss Linux installation

Try Antergos it's the best I have used for ease and usability, it's based on arch but easier to install.

Good Cheap Server - HP Proliant Microserver 4 BAY - OWNERS THREAD

It depends what you want to do, for single drives I share stuff out on single Ubuntu virtual machines with NFS. You can also do this with SMB to make your files accessible from Windows Machines. You could also look into virtualising FreeNAS, its a great easy to use NAS distro with many...

One Headset for both PS4/Xbox one

I have been looking at the Astro range, looks like the best fit for your purpose from what I have seen. Plus a few of the pro teams for COD on X1 are using them, so they can't be that bad.

Heads Up: Apple 0% Finance offer is on till 10/01/2014

Guys, I ordered a MBP 15" top spec on Thursday Evening and received it Saturday. I completed the online application, no need to send any papers off and it was accepted straight away. I checked my order on Friday and it still said they were awaiting payment, so I called Apple. The support rep...

Best place for a curry near the Bullring (B'ham)?

If you can get 10 mins from the bullring I suggest Akbars on the Hagley road, easily the best in Brum. Puts all others to shame in the West Midlands IMO, they also make the biggest Nan breads ever, something you need to see if you haven't already they really are amazing.

    ownCloud 4.0 released

I think this one has FTP support, I liked version 3 but it was very slow to upload through the web interface compared to FTP but using FTP meant constantly changing permissions. Hopefully this version works better...

    Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Who can blame them, they're trying to bring linux to the mass consumer market. I don't love unity but at the same time it works, the search works well although places could be neater. I like what they do though, they make Linux easy for people with little technical ability. I have no trouble...

    ZFS or Openfiler or Vail

ZFS is only useful if you have a lot of ram, at least 8GB at minimum IMO if not more. You can also use SSD's for write cache and logs if you have any to spare. How many vm's do you plan on running?

Can't get my new build online

I assume you can see the network adapter in your network connections folder lol, if so check the details and find out if your getting assigned an IP address from your router or not. If your not you should get an IP in the 16x. Range.

    Monitor bandwidth of connected devices?

Ideally if you have a machine with two NIC's then you can use the pfsense machine as your main router and use your current router as a switch, you can have all types of monitoring along with a very good firewall and intrusion prevention system. Your network would be... Modem > pfSense >...
