Just my experience of trying both at my last home on the patio and block paving. I found hypo didn't remove everything that biocides do (albeit very slowly) and green returned to the hypo earlier with or without a sealer. I've read some pros that treat roofs with hypo rinse to avoid damage to...
As I posted above I just brushed to remove the worst as pressure washing would risk pointing to ridges and could damage the now brittle old style roofing felt if the jet went under the tiles. I also avoided walking on the roof as our tiles aren't flat and walking does run the risk of cracking...
I have around 180m2 of roof and didn't clean it, I just removed loose moss with a brush and then treated to stop the endless moss in the gutters blocking the downpipes and soakaways.
Several years on and the roof is pristine and other than the odd leaf the gutters are clear. Cost me under...
If City Fibre is using PPPoE for your area then also check if that is hardware offloaded on the 2865 as that could limit performance as PPPoE is otherwise usually handled by a single core and needs some grunt for 1Gbps. You can find lots of performance issues reported for PPPoE with various...
Does the Draytek 2860 have enough performance for 1Gbps generally, and does City Fibre use PPPoE as that would add even more load?
I know the 2860 has hardware acceleration depending on options but it's specs shows firewall performance as 300Mbps and needing to turn off QoS, bandwidth limit etc...
I had this as a factor a few years back but in the end just got an appliance that could easily handle the overhead of PPPoE so I didn't have to limit choices for ISP. Almost three years on and it handles PPPoE FTTP 1Gbs/110Mbs with never more than 20% CPU use on the one core handling it.
No it looks like you have the third revision. If you check the properties in the Details tab that will also show various REV_03 type values.
I've got a CCTV server running an i225 Rev3 (c) at 2.5GbE and it's working 24 x 7 with many cameras and any glitch would cause immediate notifications...
Agreed as per my initial comment:
I used to install CCTV back in the day before I moved onto other things, but I know the neighbours where I live now and my last home would certainly not agree to such recording and neither would I.
As has already been stated you are not allowed to record people's private property its as simple as that. The camera in question not only overlooks peoples gardens which is bad enough but also records into some of their properties.
As already mentioned this is a common issue.
I did work on my own fascias/soffits and simply put a temporary anchor bolt in the wall just below and used some wire to tie fittings to that so they didn't sag or strain the cables while I replaced the fascia and soffit. I made sure I had some good...
For me this last issue spanned 24 hours starting with a four hour complete loss of service and 24 hours isn't the longest period with an issue in the last year.
While I am happy with Aquiss support, their underlying service comprising their system, City Fibre and OR/BTw hasn't been what I...
Have all the applicable neighbours agreed to have you capture their gardens?
I have more than a dozen outside cameras but all positioned or masked to only cover my property.
Just ensure that if the fan is facing down as is common then either flip the PSU or disable the hybrid fan control so the fan will always run as detailed in the manual. My TX-1000 and TX-1300 had other failure causes as they had hybrid fan disabled but I've got a couple of friends that had their...
Anyone else suffering from drop outs, very high latency and low speed since midnight? It's reported and apparently another BT Wholesale issue, but these issues keep on coming so for me another day using Virgin Media for all devices in under a week.
I never realised BT Wholesale/Openreach...
The offset is just hours, mins and seconds before or after.
However if accuracy is important then its better to use sun elevation and an angular offset.
Well my latency issues continue despite BT working on it today and it improving for a couple of hours before going back as before.
With the Easter weekend not sure when it will get looked at again despite me reporting so it looks like we will be failing over to VM for all rather than some...
I know as I had over utilisation issues with VM for several years with endless dates for fixes.
However in the past few years I have been fortunate to not need VM support and their service in my area has been way more reliable for years (and with good for VM latency) than Aquiss/OR in the...
Mine was fine when you first posted but started having issues from about 4pm yesterday and still today. Whatever the cause on the OR side I've had way more issues with OR based FTTP than VM in the last year (surprising I know!)
I've noticed my monitoring showing increased latency (60ms+) a number of times over the last day and reported it and apparently its OR side and has been reported for them to fix.
