Far cheaper option compared to the rip off price MS charge for their official HDMI cable and audio adapter!
I currently run my old premium using the VGA cable to my LCD TV and I use optical too feed my 5.1 amp.
The optical port on the PS3 is built in and imo, MS have no excuse for not at least...
You wont go wrong with starting off with the 18-55 IS.
I've kept mine as there are plenty of situations where I have found that it's better than the 17-85 IS.
Another good budget lens (when you eventually need more focal length) is the Canon 55-250 IS.
At the moment it only seems to be affecting products assembled in Japan like DSLR bodies and lenses.
I believe that Sony use subcontract companies based in China like most big companies do.
However, I don't think the pound is going to improve against other currencies in the near future so we...
I agree with Vertigo1.
As a starter lens the 18-55 IS isn't a bad all rounder.
It's quite fast and also not too shabby in low light.
I also own a 17-85 IS USM is quite slow and while it's fine outdoors in daylight, it doesn't cope so well with low light.
Here is an example of a shot taken...
This isn't just happening to Canon L lenses.
Some bodies have also increased in price.
The way things are going it will happen to all DSLR products that are manufactured in Japan.
As Gaffer has already stated, the pound is very weak against the yen.
Even the HK based suppliers are being hit with...
I use a Samsung LE32R8 32" for my Xbox 360 and PS3 and I love it.
I even bought another for the lounge.
It's now been discontinued and it looks like the replacement model is the LE32A.
This can be found for under £400.
A quick google shows that it has received some very good reviews from...
It sounds like he has a different remote to the official one.
If so I presume it uses IR via the USB dongle rather than bluetooth that the official remote uses.
OP, I hope you didn't pay a lot for that remote because the official one can be picked up for £17.
As above.
Do they use Royal Mail, UPS etc?
I received an email from MS on Monday saying mine had been dispatched and I was hoping it would arrive today.
The postie has already been today and I don't want to wait in all day unless it's the likes of UPS.
I tried this as you mentioned it in a previous post.
They kept insisting that I printed out the form, hence the excuse I ended up making.
They would do themselves a favour if they supplied the migration kit with the HDD in the first place.
MS can't be naive to realise that a lot of 20GB...
Not wishing to hijack the thread but a tip for those who want to order the cable directly.
When you phone MS support, take the option for 'accessories', (the woman I spoke to about the Xbox 360 was clueless).
When you get through, tell them you can't print out the order form and they will send...
