Project: Two storey/part single storey side and rear extensions

The sink waste running into a boss on the soil pipe is not really an issue (other than cosmetic) as long as the flush does not suction all the water out of the sink trap. If it does there are traps with valves that will solve the issue.

    Who here owns a Mini?

It would give me access to octopus go so I could charge my solar battery cheaply too. And for kid transport to football and rugby the electric will have enough range for electric only but yes, whether it is worth it is a major consideration.

    Who here owns a Mini?

Is this all Countryman models or specifically the phev ones?

    Who here owns a Mini?

Hi. Potential new mini owner here. Despite there being, perhaps, better alternatives I like the look of the mini countryman and having never owned a mini fancy giving it try. I am looking at second hand and possibly a phev as I can charge at home and gives me access to cheaper tariffs to use...

sensible budget for small galley kitchen?

Have you considered doing it yourself? With straight runs and no joins DIY kitchens will get you good premade units and worktop express will get you nice pre-cut wood tops. Easily under 3k for a lovely looking kitchen (not including appliances). Then rip out, get plumber and/or electrician to...

Project: Two storey/part single storey side and rear extensions

Is the soil stack coming out the wall or the floor in the bathroom? If it is the wall I can't understand why the toilet is forward from the wall? I am guessing the sink waste goes into a boss on the toilet pan connector?

    OverClockers Twitchers' Thread

I keep hearing them in the trees nearby but not sighted one yet. And definitely not on our feeder!

    OverClockers Twitchers' Thread

Found a dead pigeon in our garden. It was fresh, not sure how it died as didn't look like a cat or anything. Anyway, we put it in the middle of the lawn hoping one of the kites would grab it. Looked out the window this morning and saw a sparrow hawk de-feathering it and then feeding on it. Was...

Which order to renovate a room?

Under fire regs you are meant to have a mechanical fixing other than just foam anyway, if I remember correctly. Can you just nock the sticking out bit off th brick? It can't be doing anything!

    Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

I have around 10K not doing much and keep considering whether to invest it or not. But I don't really have a clue where to start or whether it is even worth it with that amount. It is money I could afford to loose, but would rather not.

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

Couldn't agree more. They offer nothing in the way of peace of mind or quality assurance, and from what I have read have no interest in supporting consumers over installers. Waste of time and money.

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

Thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it. I am with octopus so will see if I can get on GO. I think intelligent GO is only good for compatible chargers and/or cars or batteries. I don't have anything that will work with it.

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

I do have that inverter, yes. Unfortunately I don't have a EV so I can't get on GO. Will have to see if agile is worth it.

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

I didn't know I could do that, thanks! What tariff do you use?

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

I have an opportunity to add 6kwh of battery storage for £3k installed (2 x T30 solax batteries). This would take my total to 12kwh, which is the maximum I currently use on a day, and usually I use quite a bit less. It would allow me to move to a tariff with cheap night electric and charge the...

The µ43 thread - welcome to the really dark side

I think I am currently leaning towards G9 mk ii, the lecia 100-400mk2 and probably the 8-18. But I have a couple of months before I need to buy so will keep an eye on the OM1 MK2 and see if any deals for either come up.

Octopus just seem to actually care about providing a service still.

Power Tools & General Tools Recommendations & Advice

Look at the key tools you are likely to buy and ensure both do all these tools. Other than that both are great brands. As are Makita. I was actually deciding between Makita and Milwaukee last year as both make great track saws. I went with Milwaukee in the end but am sure I would have been happy...

    Mortgage Rate Rises

Given the fees seem to be increasing (based on no real evidence I must say) then only having one fee to pay might be good? I was fortunate enough to pay my mortgage off in January, but before I did I was still getting some offers with no fees, albeit at a slightly higher rate. It is a difficult...
