PC upgrade - Mostly not sure of GTX options

Hi All, Currently thinking about doing an upgrade, after chatting with people around Microsoft Flight Sim. and thinking it might be time. It's been 5 years, and the below spec has served me well. Current spec. CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 3.4GHz Mobo: Asus B450M Pro4 RAM: Corsair Ven. LPX 32GB DDR4-3000...

    Help diagnosing a Windows issue

I've been having an issue for a while, I cannot rememeber when it started, but it's getting annoying. Basically, video stop playing, applications don't respond and the machine has to be restarted to get functionaility back. I'm not really sure the best way to start digging into the issue, as I'm...

    Juniper Network EX2200

I don't suppose you've got a console and a serial to usb adapter? Would probably be easier to sort out that way.

    *** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Has one of the patches released caused the cost of items to go up and the technical requirements been raised for terminals and getting into cars? I'm pretty sure when I played pre-patch it wasn't so harsh...

New Internet Telephone Call Scam ?

Just had a guy at work ask me about this one, glad I don't have a phone plugged in.

    Alternative to virgin

It does take time to roll out new technology. It makes sense for them to make the most of their infrastructure. Anywhere they miss will no doubt be picked up by regionals putting their own fibre in or anyone who already has a large fibre presence.

What PC games are you playing?

Just built a new pc to replace my 5 year old model, so slowly working through some titles I couldn't play before. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - So much to explore, not fully hooked like I was with the previous one, but will carry on. Battlefield 1 - Short but fun single player campaign, but...

    The monitor curse... no, really...

Literally just bought myself a Dell S2716DG, as what people have said here have made me realise, it's the only suitable choice for me.

    The monitor curse... no, really...

Dell S2716DG not fit the bill? I'm in the market for a new monitor and I'm really put off my some of the reports of the high end Acer & Asus monitors. The Dell, to me, seems like the safe bet, not as IPS panel, but good enough.

Check my ITX build (might be Micro-ATX now)

It is a monster price, a big chunk of that is the monitor. As my current monitor is ancient, less than 1080 res. and I've already had to replace some capacitor on it. Edit... Annnd I've just seen that the wireless adapter for the Hive needs a PCI slot. I think I need to rethink this and go back...

Check my ITX build (might be Micro-ATX now)

Hi all, I've been trying to spec up a new PC build for a while now, but I kept changing the case I wanted, so took a while longer than expected. I am planning on mainly use if for gaming, currently looking forward to running the following games: Fallout 76, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Witcher 3...

    ** NVIDIA 1070Ti DEALS!! **

It's more the size of the cooler, would have to keep the side of the case off or modify it.

    ** NVIDIA 1070Ti DEALS!! **

I really want that Zotac 1070Ti, but it's just not going to squeeze into the case I want (Phanteks - Enthoo Evolv Shift). And would probably get too hot anyway...

    The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

I decided that I needed a 'proper' camera for my trip away, so got myself a lovely Sony A6000. I've got a fair bit of learning to do to make the most of it, as my last one was a Panasonic TZ5, which was mostly kept on auto. Removed pics, need to re-upload on another site.

Hardware upgrade - towards VR possibly

Thanks for the detailed response! Yeah the monitor has been an absolute work horse, only had to replace 3 capacitors in 10 years (I'm not really one for electronic work, but was easy enough). I didn't even consider a 2nd hand system to be honest. That's pretty interesting about the differences...

Hardware upgrade - towards VR possibly

I'm looking at upgrading my rig to be able to play some of the newer, higher end games that have come out recently, which my rig has not been able to run. I'm also interested in potentially getting the rig in a position to support VR as well in the future. I'm so out of date with things now...

Winter 2016/17 - A cold Winter or another mild one?

I'm hoping for a cold one. Booked myself to Norway ice climbing in Feb, as well as some trips to Scotland, fingers crossed.

Luke Cage - Netflix September 30th

I felt like the first 6 episodes where pretty good, not up there with DD or JJ, but still good. Last half was rubbish, I was just watching it to get it over and finished. It was not a strong finish at all and missed a chance at a cameo, which would have made it slightly better. Such a shame...
