It should be a fairly easy job for gas Safe engineer when you get the boiler serviced. Can't say what the ROI time would be like, it would help if you're on a water mete though.

Yep, I replicated the formulas from another column with the ofgem october rates where I had subtracted the £400, oops. Slightly less rosy picture now but the 25% makes sense now.

This is true but doesn't tell the whole picture; electric is about 3.8x the cost of gas per kWh. In summer there is probably a marginal difference in cost, in winter using gas will very slightly offset heating needs.
