    Subnautica

I only used one secondary base but used the nuclear reactor with the full 4 fuel rods. I used a bioreactor at the surface base but never had too much issue keeping it powered, I just used to throw any eggs and fish in it that I had found.

    DIY Guitar Pedal Power Supply

I've used the Harley Benton power supply for a while now and it's fine, never any issues. I did consider making my own but I struggled to see the value with the HB being so cheap.

    Worst Support Act

Hah I remember that, I was near the front and was facing away from the stage watching the hail of rubbish thrown in the air! Dave wasn't happy! Was there also the next year for Big Day Out, which if memory serves me right, Metallica chose the lineup. There was some garbage that day but Metallica...

    DIY Guitar Pedals

I'd say the majority of pedals are probably true bypass these days, but all Boss pedals are buffered. A buffer isn't a bad thing as such and it can help with signal and tone if you have a lot of pedals, but some pedals need the high impedance of the guitar output to work properly (a lot of fuzz...

    DIY Guitar Pedals

It's quite addictive once you start, especially when you realise that for most pedals there's no secret ingredient, it's all off the shelf components (granted, some use harder to find or expensive op-amps or diodes but they still aren't too expensive). The kits from bitsbox use the layouts from...

    DIY Guitar Pedals

I've made over a hundred pedals over the years, and i'd recommend http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.co.uk/ for layouts, and bitsbox.co.uk for parts. I also get stuff from tayda from time to time but the delivery is a couple of weeks. I haven't made a rotovibe clone but i've made a few tube...

    Subnautica

I was a bit concerned with the last update but this one seems to have helped performance no end. Still going to hold off playing until full release, 20 hours in the sandbox is enough for me for now.

Damn....double took this when I was browsing news. One of the bands I listened to so much during the 90's.

    OcUK Dadsnet thread

Thanks guys, we just got him home. He has to go back in the next two days to have the last two doses for antibiotics but it's such a relief to know he's ok. The staff at QMC were so good, they really looked after him. It's been exhausting really, I think we'll all sleep well tonight. I've often...

    OcUK Dadsnet thread

Well I'm sat in Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham for 5th day now. My 3 year old was taken I'll last Wednesday and has been diagnosed with meningococcal septicaemia. I was golfing at the time but the Mrs knew something was wrong and got paramedics out very quickly. He was seen straight away...

Guitar Effects/ Amp nerds in here ?

The best sound I ever had at home was a Vox Ac4, and that was loud enough even on 1/4W setting. If you fancy it i'd recommend building your own pedals, you only need a few bits to do it. Even if you can't solder you'll have cracked it by the time you made your first. That way you can experiment...

    Upcoming Concerts

Saw Trivium last night at Rock City, they were solid as usual. I've seen them quite a few times now and they have always been good. Rock City is down the road for me too so I was at home with a cuppa by half ten =) Thinking of going to Devin Townsend Project on 18th March, anyone seen them...

Do you charge your adult children who still live at home?

I got my first paid job at 16 working at McDonalds and made about 50 quid a week. My Dad asked me to pay him £15 each week, which I did without any complaint because I respected him and realised how much of a good deal it was really. My kids aren't old enough to be earning yet but when they are...

    ***The Official Guitar Thread***

That's cool. I'm all for the high tech stuff but i'm not sure i'd want to interfere too much with an oldie like your strat! Good luck to you Xordium, if I was starting out with classical or jazz to that level, it'd be jazz all the time.

    ***The Official Guitar Thread***

Nice! I'm making something at the moment, a bit different from the partscaster and kits I have done so far. Look forward to seeing yours complete. Fox you installing that yourself? Looks like quite a bit to do - at least there's plenty of room inside =) I've also been trying a few...
