    Audi S4 (B7) vs Audi S4 (B8)

How about the Quattro & Winter Tyres combo for ultimate traction :p

    Audi S4 (B7) vs Audi S4 (B8)

Yes maybe the fairer comparison would be RS4 (B7) vs S4 (B8), as while the budget isn't the key factor, this does level the field a little. Even in that case I am still leaning towards Cripple's point and the newer platform. It seems better all round except for the V8. But going back to...

    Audi S4 (B7) vs Audi S4 (B8)

With a slight variation on the spec me a car for £XXX I have already decided on a model which might be a keeper and this is the S4 Avant. But the question posed is newer always better? Both the current 2009+ and previous model are in budget, but the newer S4 seems more like an A4 3.0T than a...

    Golf 5 GTI or Audi A3 2.0T

Yep I get you, but this is really a car to do me for a year or two, a decent E90 330i/335i/M3 Coupe would be a longer term buy. Regarding the budget, having typically bought the best car I could afford in the past, find myself for the first time in unfamiliar territory budget wise because there...

    Golf 5 GTI or Audi A3 2.0T

Yes a little OT. OK will report back after driving the Golf and A3, but curently leaning to the A3 as prefer the look of it and the Golf main dealer prices are a little extortionate compared with Audi.

    Golf 5 GTI or Audi A3 2.0T

I hope my wifey isn't being referred to as the St Bernard of dogs ;)

    Golf 5 GTI or Audi A3 2.0T

Eyes rolled at wifey's fear of large cars. The A3 sportback is a little longer than the normal A3 rather than just a 5 door version so they have a little more legroom, I haven't seen one in person yet but should be "plenty of room for (a) doggy"

    Golf 5 GTI or Audi A3 2.0T

Don't need something big, just dog capable etc. so not a saloon or small coupe like TT / 350Z. We only need one car but the wife won't drive anything too large  The TT was a great car and put a smile on my face at every roundabout, though I did prefer the E46 330i overall. Will...

    Golf 5 GTI or Audi A3 2.0T

OK thanks for the warning, will probably be going with main dealer, and I tend to not keep a car much longer than 1-2 years anyway so should be fairly safe there. Will bear it in mind when the time comes for warranty extension as I wouldn't normally go for one, but might be a good idea.

    Golf 5 GTI or Audi A3 2.0T

Had a TT 225 before, and really need a fullsize car these days. Good call on the 3.2 though, they don't actually look any more expensive and are all quattro too I believe. The only problem on the 3.2 being that my mileage is very unpredictable, I could do anything from 5k to 20k in a year so...

    Golf 5 GTI or Audi A3 2.0T

Looking into a circa 3-4 year old car spending around 12k. Defintely going for the DSG auto box as want something with a bit of novelty value. Considering Golf V GTI or the Audi A3 with the same 200ps engine. Will be driving both over the next couple of weekends, but really wanted to ask if...

    Leasing

Not too far off with that, on a recent job I was at 25 easily the youngest contractor/consultant there. Luckily I can get away with it due to some early grey hair :D

    Cycle commute!

Yeah will watch out, I keep it in the house at night and we haven't had a problem with bikes at work (Got a bike shed), but went for this beast anyway, boy it's heavy :D

    Cycle commute!

Just started after moving to Cambridge, something like 25% of people here bike to work so the drivers are all good with the bikes. Just got a Specialized Centrum Elite as my ride is only 2miles each way so no need for a real road bike.

    First Motorcycle - Honda CBR125R?

Looked at these 2 places, although I have just moved to Cambridge so they aren't in the Manchester area. http://www.camrider.com/courses/index.html http://217.72.249.136/spearit/csmtrain/motorcycle-cbt-costs.php

    First Motorcycle - Honda CBR125R?

Not sure getting a bit lost with CBR, CG, CB... Think I'll just do the CBT and then see what I feel like after that, might feel happy going straight to the DAS with no practice, but may feel like I want to take it easy and get a 125cc for a while on the provisional.

    First Motorcycle - Honda CBR125R?

Think this is the plan: - Get CBT - Buy a 2007 used CBR125 for practice for around £1800 - After a bit of practice take the course for DAS - See what I fancy then after losing nothing much on the Honda in a few months. I'm sure a few people will say skip the top steps and just do the...

    First Motorcycle - Honda CBR125R?

Looks like the DAS then as everyone is recommending it. Will shop around for courses, do the DAS and then buy a bike. Is it that easy to pass as a novice, or is it better to buy a 125cc to practice on between training sessions? What else would you recommend then as well as a Bandit...

    First Motorcycle - Honda CBR125R?

If I go direct access with a training couse I would probably skip the stop gap, although not likely to lose too much if I pay around £1700 a year old. May still fancy the CBR125 if I just do the CBT and ride for a while before taking the course, but makes sense to just go right in there with...

    First Motorcycle - Honda CBR125R?

May have to go for the DAS then, as I am very confident with my road skills so I guess I could concentrate on the bike handling side of it. Always fancied a bike but not been keen until I had at least 5 years on the road. Not planning to roll off a new bike, been looking at '07 CBR for about...
