    Catch me if you can!

Following the last sprint which was LHC@home, I've managed to be the first of OcUK to cross the 10 million mark  https://stats.free-dc.org/user/lhc/485840 Who's up for a race to 100 million? :p

Fan control hysteresis on MSI 450i?

Create your own custom fan curve, have it fix the RPM at about 500 up until 50 degrees then ramp up in accordance with CPU temperature, reaching 100% at about 70 degrees. That way you will have the fans stay silent until any real load is placed on the CPU and only reach maximum speed under heavy...

I am so sorry to hear of Xez's passing. My deepest condolences to you and the family Hayley.

I hate to think what the power draw of that must be

Very nice run times for those! Seem to be on par with my V2's, but that's only 24 physical cores vs 64

    8th Annual BOINC Pentathlon: 5th May - 19th May 2017

I put a little extra in to Cosmology while Yoyo was running, but I'm back to about a 66/33 split with LHC and Cosmology now. Hopefully we have enough CPU power to hold the spots!

    8th Annual BOINC Pentathlon: 5th May - 19th May 2017

Not all that much. Windows 10 and 6x 4 core instances uses 11GB with a few background programs running, no where near is ludicrous as Atlas or LHC is.

I find that my RX480's and my 780m do better with just 1 unit per card. 2 doesn't help much if at all and 3 is significantly slower

Sorry I could not participate in this sprint. Had a lot on my plate along with reviving my 4930k rig. Wanted to take a look at LHC@Home since Atlas@Home is being rolled in to it along with points being brought over. It's been a gigantic PITA understanding the limitations of the project. The LHCb...

    HardOCP compare a 2600K with a 7700K

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but Kaby Lake is a refresh just like Devil's Canyon was. Intel were doing their Tick (new architecture such as Sandy Bridge) > Tock (Die Shrink E.G. Ivy Bridge) method, but had no end of problems doing the die shrink to Broadwell. So their new CPU line up goes Tick...

    HardOCP compare a 2600K with a 7700K

Depends on the editing software used. Adobe Premier hardly uses more than 4 cores efficiently, so a highly clocked 6700k or 7700k will easily beat a 22 core Xeon E5-2699V4. Linus did a great video showing his mistake in using Xeons in their work flow, not in the sense it was terrible, but a...

    TN-Grid challenge

Joined in a little late, had some other things going on so I missed the start. Thrown a few Xeons at it, but it all depends on how long units take to be validated.

    2/4 GTX 1080's not recognised

If you look at your manual, PCI-E Slots 1-4 are provided from CPU1 while 5-7 are provided from CPU2. You won't get those cards working without your second Xeon installed.

    RX 480 DC Benchmarks

Average is about 265k PPD with the thermal throttle unit and low scoring unit accounted for, but closer to 280k without them

    RX 480 DC Benchmarks

1.2m from both cards. But for 320w peak power draw that's pretty good!

    RX 480 DC Benchmarks

You're welcome. These are the first AMD cards I've had since the 4850. I've always preferred the nvidia drivers for some of their features and general organisation, but the AMD Crimson drivers have been really good with 1 exception: for love nor money I cannot get these cards to crossfire. I've...
