Is my new R9 390 faulty?

Well, I've only tried GTA V and Dyling Light, both for only about 20 mins each (would die after 3-4 mins previously). I have both games set to 1920x1080 (best my monitor will do) with everything on max./ultra and they both run smooth as silk :). Will leave Samsung Magician off for now but may...

Is my new R9 390 faulty?

Yep, I noticed it just before I went to the garage and changed the pagefile back to dynamic and shut down. Just got back and am going to boot and try it. Edit : Changed the pagefile to dynamic and re-tried GTA V. It lasted longer before eventually crashing. This time the error said "failed...

HI, Nope :). Basic Windows 10 installation. Everything cool with the old card, nothing changed (except a driver re-installation) when I put in the new card. Bob.

Is my new R9 390 faulty?

    Gaming M-ATX case

Hi all, I move my gaming machine around quite a lot and would like a change from the midi-tower. So I was wondering if there was such a thing as a m-atx case that would take an ATI 5850 and was (preferably) made of plastic? Bob.

    Noctua NH-U12P fitting

Hi, Can anyone explain where the fan goes on this puppy? Do you fit it on the side of heatsink nearest the back of the case or the side furthest away? Then, which way round does the fan go, how do you know which way it blows the air? Sounds like a daft question but I've put my hand...

    Gigabyte ma78g-ds3h not starting

Cob, Thanks for your reply. Just for everyones information I RMA'd the board. I'd tried reseating all the cables, I took the board out of the case to rule out shorts, I'd reset the CMOS, etc. Still got no video or beeps (even tried another speaker just in case). No option in the end...

    Gigabyte ma78g-ds3h not starting

Hi all, Just putting together a build with the above MB. When I turn on the power, LAN LED comes on, disk spins up, CPU fan starts...and nothing. No display output, no beeps. I've tried with the RAM taken out to make it beep and nothing. Anyone had any experience with these? Or am...

    RAID 1 on existing build

Yes you can. That's what I've done in the BIOS. But on boot I get BSOD and reboot. Like I said I think it's due to the installed OS not having the RAID drivers. Was wondering if you could shoehorn them in somehow.

    RAID 1 on existing build

Admiral, Thanks for reply, but I'm trying to set up the new RAID config. without re-installing the OS (sorry for not being clear). Was wondering if this could be done. I don't want the OS on the mirror, it's for data only. Bob.

    RAID 1 on existing build

Hi, I've got a system up and running with a single SATA drive using Vista Ultimate. I've purchased an additional 2 x 1TB SATA drives that I want to run in a RAID 1 configuration so I have the existing OS drive as standalone and the 2 new drives with mirror. Can I do this without having...

    Speedstep/C1E/EIST

Well, I used CPU-Z and it shows that the CPU throttles correctly. Thanks for that. I assume then that coretemp is buggy?

Hi, Using coretemp to measure and OCCT and prime to load. Bob.

    Speedstep/C1E/EIST

Hi, I've more or less finished OCing my system (3Ghz on Q6600) so was looking at turning speedstep, etc back on thinking I'd run at 3Ghz under load and it would throttle back when idle saving power. Is this right? I only ask because after re-enabling C1E and E1ST in the BIOS the CPU is...

    Question about memory timings

Wow, it was that easy! Don't those hidden settings make life a joy? Thanks Cob. I can't believe how straightforward it was to overclock the system. I really hope my new arrival tomorrow (Q6600 + Abit IP35 Pro) does just as well :).

    Question about memory timings

Hi, New to overclocking these days (used to do a lot of it back in the early 90's :) ) but thought I'd give it go. The system I've experimented with is a Core2Duo E6700 on a Gigabyte 965p DS3 mobo with 4GB (2x2GB) of GSkill DDR2 PC2-6400C4 (CL4-4-4-12, 2.0v - 2.1v). After reading these forums...
