I went for the 560 to make use of the higher ram speed, think there are some other benefits.. Details of setup are in my sig. Yeah and could also potentially stick a better rocket lake processor in future
i recently went from a 4790 to a 10400f and games are significantly smoother and i am still running a GTX 970, running most games on high and no issues with GTA V.
You could probably get about £75-100 for your old gear on ebay and should be able to get all the bits for than, i picked up a 2nd...
What is he looking to achieve from the PC ?
i recently went from a 4790 to a 10400f and games are significantly smoother and i am still running a GTX 970, running most games on high but not ultra but havent got any complaints for the time being
So , i recently bought a fractal design define mini c so that i could reduce the size from my behemoth Antec 900.
I had decided to give my PSU (520hx) a clean (it appears moths had been living inside it!) before sticking it in the new case, and took it apart to clean inside. When i came to put...

so ended up taking to another computer shop and it turned out it crashed their computer also. So he has managed to get them to write a report for him and has successfully RMA'd it and been given a brand new 6700xt. So appears to have been resolved. Thanks for the help
i think it depends how you qualify modern games. and what they want to play.. if they are only spending £300 on a pc i doubt they are going to be dropping £50+ on new games every couple of months ?
why 10 years, you would get much better spending half the amount twice over ? the increase in performance you will see from doubling a budget now is marginal compared to the building two PCs at half the price.. and you can sell the first one you purchase for maybe 25-35% of the value to help...
hi i have the same issues as Cadder today, what am i looking for in windows error reporting, as thre is just a single file last modified in jan ? and also the event viewer should i be able to see the AOE app somewhere ?#

I did this last week replaced mobo cpu and ram.. Just plugged in my old ssd.. windows spent 5 mins sorting drivers and I was good to go with all
No issues at all..
Only one thing is if you have a single use copy of office windows might realise it as new computer and ask you to activate again
Ah thanks just noticed this in the manual also!
Updated all is working @3600mhz
changing the slots and reseating ram
putting the ram to 1.37V
thanks for your help guys :)
ok so i tried the creeping up method. I set the ram to 1.35V and then slowly went up through the settings, all worked well until i tried to go to 3200mhz or higher.
When i get to 3200mhz the pc manages to post, but when i get to windows it bluescreens with a ntoskrnl.exe error.
Any suggestions...
This may sound silly but , im not sure how i can check it , as if i enable XMP to put it into effect i have to save and exit the bios, it fails to post and then after about 30secs of waiting it takes me back to the bios where everything is set @ 2133mhz
or am i missing something here.
Hi yes i have an eSports Duo cooler so dont think that is a problem.
I think the asus performance enhancement option relates to the power limiting thing, and its enabled by default which means it wont restrict power consumption.
Hi Esat.
sorry not quite sure what you mean ?. Does not enabling XMP autamically change the voltages of the ram for you, or are you saying i need to go and change to 1.35V
When the comp has failed to post i think thats when it sets the ram to 2133mhz @ 1.2v
Hi
can someone please help me understand what i am doing wrong.
