i would just re-install, so Windows 7 makes the necessary partition alignment suited for SSDs during install, I believe cloning to a new disk removes the partition alignment offset.

Shouldn't your 640GB be doing around 100-110mb/sec sequential read (in ATTO)? Or yours is probably a different model to my WD 640GB, which is WD6401AALS
