I can confirm that my partner also has this issue with her iPhone. Never thought about taking it back as its quite random and may only happen once a week. I can confirm it is annoying though.
Does 3GB in about 5 mins, all types of different files so guess that is ok?

using norton internet security, has many many options - what do I need to look for? Disabled firewall, etc.
I have backups but it obviously backs up the corrupted word files, I'm just running another disk check now.
It's a very odd and random error I know, I just need to get to the bottom of it and stop having my 16 page reports corrupted.
Tried open and repair but no luck, all it did was change all the "Y" to hundreds of numbers all over the page.
Network should be fine in terms of speed, any way I can verify this?
Only other thing is that sometimes the 2 printers attached to the server refuse to print and I have to do a re-boot.
Network works, can access files and 2 pc's backup to the same drive. Can open all other kind of files ok and it's not all word files, just certain ones.

I have a Win7 machine setup as a simple file / print server shared to about 6 computers and laptops. I write reports in .doc format and save them via a mapped network drive to the file server.
I'm getting a lot of corrupt word files, say if it's 10 page report it will become 600...
You could with some old Nokia's but with iPhone 4 it's doubtful.
In fact very doubtful, unless there is a crazy case with a cable coming off it which fits into the sim slot and replaces the sim tray, but I doubt it ...
It's only about 2M from the router itself, checked drivers, router is updated, checked control panel. I could have a mess with router but doubtful that the oriantation of the router will help.
The connection drops, then after about 30 sec it re-scans and then connects again. I've got laptop...
I've tried it on my desktop and it was fine but that is hard wired, have a few iPhones and iPods in the house and they don't seem to drop - but they ain't a continous connection streaming media
