This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

Makes sense when its looking at the distribution side, ignoring the generation side, which is kind of the point some of us are making. Look at the north of Scotland and see the size of the wind farms generation close by, but which is not treated as local supply. IE its cheap to connect...

Premium Bonds - If you post to say how much you've won, please also say how much you have invested.

He was an old forum member who had a fixation with the age of premium bonds and their chances of winning He evidenced his "proof" with an approximately 100 year old statistics model for an unrelated subject matter

The term estate is not reserved for on death only, but a good point.

They should be separate. The DB (the old scheme) has in effect been deferred. At least it sounds like a DB scheme. That one you need to look at in more detail since generally they had good terms but she needs to check that was preserved, unusual not to. They are not normally converted to a sum...

Pension fund performance - do you monitor yours, how is it doing, do you actively change it?

Well for starters Are you confusing the potential pension with the fund. The fund if she dies should go to her beneficiaries, its her money if its a DC scheme. If its currently around 10% of the estimate at a future date it makes sense. The whole point of DC is its an individuals pot, once...

I would say with the future scrapping a space that can hold a water vessel is really daft. Is your system vented or unvented, I assume vented. If you can look at going unvented. I mean look at the options but unvented is pretty much the best of both worlds and those of us who have it and have...

Nah details are difficult to find. 150/400 isn't that great a ratio ;) Its far from transparent So we just need to find a way to balance the local environmental impacts, including asthetics now we have concluded the financial side is probably reasonably fair ;)

So from what I can tell on the grid and as ever its tricky to find much detail. The costs of the grid are shared (unknown) split to the generators and the consumers. Again unclear if the users are charged via SC or units. Suspect its SC but its not certain. I guess its another conversation in...

    All inclusive resorts with kids

Not well known in the UK but Sandals (adults only) have a family version called beaches. If they are as good as the adult version then they should be good. Wont be cheap for sure, but Caribbean which offers some opportunites of history etc for the kids

I think it just gives you your tariff average, I did mine myself in excel when looking but its hard to take account of how your behaviour would/could change So I think its an ok estimate if your on a standard type tariff but pretty iffy if already on a smart TOU tariff

Agile is all about when. If your a heavy user in 4-7pm then no If you can avoid most usage at that time then quite possibly a good move Are you an octopus customer, if so check out https://agile.octopushome.net/dashboard You can look at history and compare your consumption (very top left)

What we should do is reward the areas with pylons and generation with specific rebates and load the cost to the areas that need the energy imported, and yes I mean within the UK. The best way to deal with NIMBYs is to sideline them. The best way to sideline them is to give the silent majority...

Pension fund performance - do you monitor yours, how is it doing, do you actively change it?

I think arguably they do. Problem as ever there should probably be multiple risk ratings, because in reality there is different risk in regards returns and protection of capital depending on factors outside the direct investment return itself.

Pension fund performance - do you monitor yours, how is it doing, do you actively change it?

True and good point. I have never noticed whether any schemes have their risk changed but there are times where a fund would be more of a risk for new investment or different times for holding investment. Eg when the £ hit $2 I would have said any US based trackers would be uber low risk. The £...

Similar to me, plan is that within my pension at least I will have buckets. Some left in high risk and some in medium. Each time I need to draw some more down I will look to pull from the best recent performance (or least worst drop). Have to remember currency risk as well. You don't want it all...
