Hi
I'm trying to optimise the noise. Any idea how/if I can individually control the speeds of the system fans in software or BIOS on Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R?
Cant find it in the mboard software or manual
thanks
Hello
Any recommendations for a quiet alternative to the Corsair GS800?
Considering the Nexus RX-8500, put off Zalman because Im not sure if size is compatible with my case (I think psu fan would not align over down-vent on case)
thanks
Hi, yes all sorted. The OC profile works perfectly. Not happy with the Corsair GS800 though, very noisy. Will take back to PC world, thinking about a Nexus. Will start another thread on this.
aah, now boots up fine. i put 2 power plugs in gcard (originally only one fine) - need to keep new psu as old only has 1 pci plug......weird. But it works! thanks for you help

hi, just cleared the cmos by taking out battery. tried a new PSU, took the RAM out, tested each individually. Still nothing, think ive run out of options. Anything else?
Hi, I pressed the CMOS button on the back a few times, still no luck. Do i have to press it at a certain time or hold it? cant find how to reset cmos in the manual
thank
Mark
OK, thanks Andy I'll try this. Will also buy a PSU from the useless PCWORLD people over the road from me, just in case.
Hope I havent fried my gcard during installation........
Hi
Yes, it does have a switch for the 12V, I tried this (put cpu and gcard on diff rails) - no luck.
If I reset the CMOS dont I invalidate my Warranty from OC as its an overclocked bundle?
Mark
Aah, thanks for fast reply. The PSU worked fine on my core2duo @3ghz with same gcard, do these new cpus really need that much more power?!
What PSU wattage would you recommend?
thanks
Mark
Hi
I just bought the following from overclockers:
Krypton Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz @ 4.00GHz Overclocked Bundle - Gigabyte
Put it all together with a Geforce GTX 260
Old Tagan TG580 PSU (580W)
Turn it on this happens:
Fans go
Fans turn off
System beeps once and hangs, fans keep...
Hi
I would like to buy:
Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB 10000RPM SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (WD3000GLFS)
My mboard:
Asus P5W DH Deluxe WiFi (Socket 775)
It has SATA but I'm not sure if this is SATA-II.
thanks!!
Thanks for the fast reply, a cheap new PC does sound like a better option. How about the Sound Blaster Audigy, is that worth using?
Also, how do I know if a gcard supports x.264/mpeg4 playback? Looking around at the OC website isnt that clear. Are these the only formats that I'll need to...
Hi
I have an old PC lying around and thought about buying a new HD, blue-ray drive (eventually) and building a multimedia PC (for use with Panasonic 42-PZ70B).
I will want to run 1080p movie files of all different formats, is this possible with the components below?
MSI K8T...
Hi I've just upgraded to core duo. I thought about turning my old PC into a multimedia PC. THe mboard is an MSI K8T NEO
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=496
It has SATA but not SATA II. Can I use a new SATA II hard drive?
thanks
