I've not had an Nvidia graphics card for years so I'm a bit out of the loop. I'm looking to get a new card mainly for CS2, so I'm very interested in Reflex. Is there any difference with Reflex and latency (at the same FPS) between the 3000 and 4000 series cards? I'm not bothered about frame gen...
I have sorted out the Raid! Here is what I did in case anyone else is in the same boat.
I updated to the latest Bios (that came out a couple of days ago). This didn't enable any of the menu's but was probably good to do.
I read up on UFEI / Bios and worked out that the mobo's default...
Thanks for the clarification on the first question, that is a relief.
I tried to follow the instructions on page 95 and I did step 3:
3. Go to BIOS > SETTINGS > Advanced > Integrated Peripherals > SATA Mode and
change setting to RAID Mode.
But step 4 says:
4. Go to BIOS > SETTINGS >...
I bought the following:
MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX (Bios 7C02v30)
Ryzen 3600
16gb Crucial 3200mhz DDR4
Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2
I installed them in my case and installed Windows 10 straight away. I wanted to install the OS and games on the Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2, then have my 2 existing Samsung...
I will check out those other drives, thanks for the suggestions.
That is a very good point, dam I wasn't planning on that in this build. Any recommendations for a part/fully modular PSU? I guess something around 600w would be suitable if I'm not ocing the cpu and only ever running 1 graphics...
Reducing noise will just be a bonus really. It's already under the desk.
I've been looking at the Adata xpg sx8200 pro 512gb drive, it seems good for the same price as the Samsung 860 500gb SSD. I'm so behind with the pc tech these days, all these new things to read up on.
That's not a bad shout actually, no harm in trying it I guess and buying another cooler if it is too loud. My PC isn't that quiet tbh once the graphics card fan gets going. I need to get a larger SSD to be able to save all my game installs on it, my current 250gb isn't big enough.
I built my system in 2011 and have only updated the ram to 16gb and the graphics card since. It's served me very well but I feel it is time for an upgrade. How does this spec look for a good bang for buck system? I will be mainly gaming (at 2560x1080) but also editing photo's and video's, so...
Which adapter do you use?
I don't have a spare router to do this on the cheap, but could get a dedicated media bridge. It's only the PC in the room so no need for extra Ethernet ports really.
The cable run would be a nightmare from the main BT socket to where my desktop is.
If I could wire the desktop to the router I would, but unfortunately it's not possible in this (rented) house. So I'm just trying to make the best of a bad situation.
That's an interesting idea, I would need to get another router instead of an adapter.
I have started to get back into gaming and I just have a cheap Asus N53 USB adapter at the moment. I know that being wired is the best for online gaming but it just isn't possible in this house. I have tried homeplugs but the electrics are old and the connection was very inconsistent.
So I am...
