How to attach twin wall polycarbonate sheeting to my wall greenhouse

I wonder if you can achieve this sort of thing with a biscuit cutter? Lidl often have them at a reasonable price (£35). Edit - seems you can, and this would be a lot easier than using a router… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1ZVq3y52Tc

What's wrong with my fridge freezer?

Is there much frost around the elements inside it? If so, would be worth defrosting it.

What's wrong with my fridge freezer?

Does it have a fast freeze setting? That can cause that, as can putting too much in it. Freezers don’t like to be packed too tightly.

What "man jobs" have you done today?

Got a Bosch impact from them last week when it was on offer - £60 well spent IMO

This. The Bosch version has a spring loaded button that locks the blades in place. No way those are falling out

Power Tools & General Tools Recommendations & Advice

I have one of these and find it excellent. Really comfy in the hand and once it’s been used for a little while, you can open it with a flicking type action, then simply fold and chuck in your pocket so it’s as safe as houses. More expensive than normal Stanley knives maybe, but really good…...

Carpet cleaner and spot washer, recommendations.

Got one of these as well, about a year ago now. Have done the carpets throughout the house twice, and like you, especially in high traffic areas, I was quite shocked at the dirt and filth it lifted! So much so that I did those areas twice over. Great machine so far

Project: Two storey/part single storey side and rear extensions

Hadn’t even noticed the tiling at first, but on closer inspection of the photo, the wall tiling really isn’t great. I’m no tiler, but I’ve fitted tiles a lot better than that…looks like someone doesn’t take enough pride in their work.

Project: Two storey/part single storey side and rear extensions

What on earth is with this guy?! That pipework is simply horrendous. Looks like the sink waste runs into the toilet waste - that’s a recipe for disaster, and likely another shortcut taken

*** The Official iPhone 15 thread (it has USB-C and everything!) ***

Anyone having issues with the iPhone 15 earpiece? During conversations mine almost sounds like someone has left a bowl of rice crispies inside the phone. It’s not loud, but the crackling sound is annoying, especially on a phone that’s barely a week old!

Best food for a mouse ?

When I had a pest control guy out previously, he carried a tub of Nutella, and used nothing other than that on all of the traps (except little bags inside the traps, which I can only assume was some sort of poison?). Regarding blocking access points, same guy suggested using chicken wire or...

    Which Smart Thermostat?

As above, Wiser is pretty much DIY. I’ve installed 2 - one with the standard backplate and one without. It was quite stress free both times. The install manual is really easily followed. If you’re any way handy, it’ll be an easy install.

What "man jobs" have you done today?

Had to repair a UPVC door mechanism when I went to close it and the damn latch jammed, stopping the door from locking - mechanism wouldn’t allow the cams to fully engage. Thankfully, stripping it down and oiling it got it working again.

    Which Smart Thermostat?

You’ve had experience of both. I almost bought Tado before Wiser, but Wiser has been my only smart heating solution. Works really well for my needs. I also use one of their (silly expensive) smart plugs which flawlessly integrates into the app. What is it that Tado does better with heat...

    Which Smart Thermostat?

Another Drayton Wiser user here. In the earlier days it was somewhat fragile, dropping off line and generally being a nuisance, but for this past year or 2 it’s been superb, never drops out unless there’s a power or broadband issue. I had a minor issue that made the app freeze on first opening...

    Alarm system?

I’ve always considered those monitoring contracts a bit of a money spinner for the companies who operate them, without any great benefits for the customers. In reality it’s nothing more than a call centre who get a notification that your alarm has activated, then they either phone the home...

    Spec me a CCTV System

Reolink CX410 sounds like it could be ideal. Motion sensor on it, which can be set at sizing small enough for cats. Full colour night recording, with even a small amount of ambient light, and it can record to a memory card. Needs a POE connection (POE switch, NVR or perhaps POE injector), and...

    Spec me a CCTV System

Hopefully my last question before installing - is there an ‘ideal’ way to install the cameras through a POE switch? Looking at Reolink’s site, this can be done 3 different ways, 2 of which have the NVR detecting the cameras as separate devices, having their IP address assigned by the router, or...
